I see. Thanks a lot! I'll probably get the 87Wh. I think warranty is more important to my company compared to raw performance.

First of all don't make the customer think you're screwing him. In my case there was series of event that made me increasingly suspicious:
    • First the sales rep tells me cannot give me discount on the monitors because he are no longer allowed to (Really!? They cannot nearly match the street price for their own monitors?)
    • Then he tells me he accidentally configured the covet edition instead of the silver, yet the offer says standard silver base in large letters (Ok, I give him the benefit of doubt here)
    • Then just minutes after he asked me what kind of monitor I want and I tell him the regular IPS and he repeats it after me, he sends me an offer with the non-IPS monitor that happens to be a bit cheaper than the original offer. So if you're not careful you might miss this and think you got an even better price!
    • Finally he tells me he cannot match the price of the first offer from less than 48 hours earlier. Have you ever been lied to and knew exactly that you are being lied to? That's how I felt and that's what really made me angry and frustrated.

So here is how I think that the whole thing should have gone down:
He should made me an offer, give me a discount on the whole package and tell me that the discount is valid only for this offer as package, plus the offer should clearly say so. Then when he is unable (or unwilling) to give me a bigger discount and I want a new offer without the monitors, he should have given me a new offer with an adjusted discount. This way I would not have felt cheated and most probably I would have ordered the M6700 anyway despite the lower discount.

Selling things to peole is always about establishing trust. If the buyer doesn't trust you, he won't buy.

For anyone who's interested: The part code for the new M*700 97Wh slice battery isn't the "451-11705" that the online battery selector guide directs you to. It is in fact "451-11831" and unlisted on their website.

Great. If you didn't tell him that you should have. Actually, telling his supervisor would have been even better. As someone who has worked in retail, hospitality and customer service for many years, I can tell you that customer feedback is a powerful tool; and your primary method to getting the service you want and deserve. My best advice would be to write the company and tell them, what you told us.

Can anyone give a difinite answer yet on whether the M6700 touch/stylus will have a Wacom digitzer or an n-Trig digitizer?
If it's a Wacom, it will be a game-changer for me, and I'll probably wait and buy it (unless it's very expensive). If it's an n-Trig, I may just get a refurbished M6600 mtouch on eBay, if I see one at a good price.
    Thanks,
    Mike Reilly, architect

    Hi everyone
I see on dell.it (Italy) that are now available nvidia K3000M and K4000M for the m6700.
The price of the K4000M is about 1/3 of the K5000M: the performances are so different between the two?
I'm thinking about buying a dell precision, and I'm stuck between the 4700 and the 6700.
Is this the right thread to ask for advice?
Thanks and sorry for my poor english

random question, why did dell choose Phoenix red instead of keeping the blood orange color(m6500) for the m6700 covet?

I have a query: I just read a review for the Lenovo W530 with a i7-3820QM here which says:

Does this apply the same way to the Dell Precisions? Even if you disable all energy saving / c-states etc, you are forced to run under half speed on battery?
