I bet it will come preconfigured to double density with effective res of 1600x900. But you can change that as Tijo said.

Native res = 3200x1800 so yeah you will be able to use it with an actual real estate of 3200x1800 if you want to, that is the way Windows works on any high res display currently available. Whether Dell sets the res to 1600x900 on the factory install and you have to manually change it remains to be seen. I though that was pretty clear. :p

Umm, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Precision line first and foremost a professional line? Shouldn't I naturally expect top-of-the-line, and state-of-the-art? If not here, then where? This dialogue seems somehow out of place.

16gb max in a workstation seems rather disappointing in 2013. Memory is cheap. Is it that hard to make room for two more 8gb mods to go to 32 gb?

If you look at that video above, that's glossy screen as far as I can tell. Tell me I am wrong? Please, please let me be wrong.

Define professional, imo it fill a nice spot for people who need premium build/display/feature/warranty but not necessary processing power(think cloud) . I guess It is arguable that dell should had make it look more "precision" or put it in the latitude line.

No one argue toughbook is "unprofessional".

Its a Mac clone, so if 16 is enough for them then....
    I already did. See above.
Whats in a name? First, think of a $100,000 Toyota, then think Lexus. Which would you buy?

Because its heft and structure speaks for itself.

This machine seems pretty nice for a thin "ultrabook" style system. There's only so much you can cram in there.

Not sure why there's all this animosity. You want more, all indications are that M4800/M6800 will also be available.

Personally, I'm fine with the hardware specs, it's the lack of a dock, look (personal opinion) and lack of a more traditional Precision/Latitude keyboard that are the things I don't like about it. I can definitely see some of its merits even if it's not the notebook for me. I'm reserving my final judgment based on how it handles cooling before recommending it for people who want a thin and light notebook.
