Thanks for the heads up. I went ahead and upgraded the BIOS even though I do not have the Thunderbolt or the Dell Docks. Right off the bat my observations are as follows:

    • I can say that the system is much more responsive, especially when it comes to the F2 and F12 menu selections during boot time :)
    • The BIOS itself is much more responsive to the keyboard directional buttons and won't lag as much behind my strokes when I am moving between different options ;)
    • It used to take 25 seconds from power on to the dell logo disappearing and another additional 20 seconds for the Windows 7 to boot on my 950 Pro with Intel Raid Drivers. This BIOS update has managed to shake a good few seconds off of each. Now I am in windows 7 within 29 seconds from power on! :D
I will keep you posted on any further observations or BSODs that might come along the way.

    Cheers

While I was not suffering for those specific dock issues, the new BIOS did nothing for my TB15 wireless mouse and display drop issues. Also, my fan noise is worse (active even though CPUs at < 50 degrees).

So BIOS update went well, and restarting and powering on the 5510 is much faster now.
However my USB mouse and keyboard "disconnects" shortly after I get Windows started. I then have to pop the devices directly to the 5510, to get them running.
Using TB15 and every driver is updated.
The first time I disconnected the devices and put them into the 5510, it BSOD. The second time it didn't. Rebooted several times, but each time the devices disconnect. And if i unplug and reinsert them into the dock, nothing happens.

Thank you SvenC, I had the opportunity to test these settings. It actually seems to mitigate the key repetition issue while on the other hand it becomes more easy to lose some key stroke when fast typing. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

What keyboard and mouse are you using? I'm using a couple of Logitech devices connected with the unifying receiver, and they will not work when the receiver is connected to the TB15, but they work flawlessly when connected directly to the laptop. Funny thing is, other USB devices work just fine when connected to the dock - wired keyboard and mouse, thumb drives, external hard drives. Prior to the new BIOS update, the Logitech receiver worked without hiccup in the dock. For me, its no big deal - I just keep the receiver plugged in to the laptop now

SvenC I will kiss your feet. These settings appear to have solved the double-key problem on my 5510, which I have struggled with for months. I had them replace the physical keyboard, and when that didn't work, the entire unit. I can tell the difference after just a few minutes. now this is my dream laptop!

The only time I noticed fan noise was when I had the dock and my Samsung U28D590D monitor connected. If I just had the dock connected, no fan noise. After the BIOS update, no fan noise anymore with the dock and monitor connected.

    You're welcome - tickling feet already :)

Hopefully Dell will get a BIOS update that fixes this at a lower level for the 5510, like they did on the m6800.
