My 5510 has the 4K glossy screen and it's starting to give me a headache.

Can anyone recommend and anti-glare screen protector that a) works and b) won't murder my colours?

    Hi Everybody,
is someone experiencing issues with the Realtek USB GBE adapter shipped with he 5510?I bought this workstation 1 month ago, but I'm unable to move away from my old laptop because of this component.....
Disabling energy efficient Ethernet reduced the issue, but when I try a tranfert of some GB, it disconnects after some minute....

Has anyone gotten to the bottom of this CPU throttling problem? My CPU gets stuck at 1.8Ghz and nothing I do can breaks that barrier, including Prime95 and BurnInTests. Downloaded Intel Extreme Tuning Utlity and it shows all settings as normal 3.2ghz normal with 3.6ghz turbo, using the default profile no changes made.

And my fans seem to like to turn on at random times for no reason. The temperature doesnt go up and they just ramp up and then after a bit ramp down. On the latest everything from Dell website.

I had the same issue initially. Install the latest BIOS, and all the drivers on the Dell Drivers page in order. That's what resolved it for me. It makes the machine silent most of the time, and the cpu is idle at 800MHz, but almost instantly bumps up to 3.2GHz, and bumps back down with workload.

I've done exactly that. For a while it was fine but now every time the laptop turns on it thinks it's a 1.8ghz processor. Have to use an Intel utility to manually change it but then it just sits at full speed all the time which is no good. Plugged in to AC/TB15/Battery-Only.. doesn't matter.

TB15 status; no USB connections, no Ethernet
They really should do something about it - quickly!

Yes, it Thunderbolt booting was enabled. I can boot the same disk via standard USB 3 ports but not the Type C port. Contacted Dell and they said it's a known issue in the pile of todos for their BIOS dev team.

@timoto thank you Tim for update. Hopefully they resolve in a new BIOS soon. These systems are young yet.

    six months is new?
Microsoft even managed to straighten out its horrific Surface Book problems in this length of time.

Just upgraded my M4600 to a 5510 with TB-15. Short version; got my internet connected and called Dell TS. ~3 hours later all was working fine. On the TB-15: mini-display port to Dell UP2414Q 4k monitor, 2 USB 2 wireless dongles, speaker out to external speakers, and a USB 3 WD 3TB MyBook backup drive. Everything works.

I am looking at upgrading the 1TB HDD with a Samsung m.2 950 pro and 850 EVO 2tb, if/when prices come down.
Question: Should I upgrade to Windows 10? Haven't yet. Dread the learning curve :(. Is there an advantage to WIn 10 with SSD? I suspect I will have to 10 sooner or later.

    Thanks.
