I have actually begun to use my Precision 5510 as my primary work machine and have been running into difficulties with the integrated and discrete graphics. Primary usage is in AutoCAD and Revit. Strangely, it looks like AutoCAD wants to list the Intel 530 as the primary graphics regardless of selection within the Nvidia menus. I'm getting a lot of video crashes and stuttered playback and the occasional "blocked access to graphics hardware" message. My guess is the Optimus switching is not working properly in Windows 10 and from my initial research it doesn't look like there's a good solution.

Probably time for another round of Dell support - joy.

Have you tried switching it using the Dell Precision Optimizer?

I received my Precision 7510 a couple weeks ago. Although I did plan to install the Samsung 950 M.2 and 850 PRO SATA drives, I ordered mine with the lowly Seagate 500GB 5400rpm HDD, which I promptly cloned to the 950, then wiped it and use it in a SATA enclosure. I guess I was fortuitous to do this!

Is this some proprietary cabling? Because the 7510 manual lists it and has instructions on removing it.

Did you mean 5510? Was there a SSD cache drive originally included?

Nope, I mean 7510. I originally ordered and XPS15, because Dell put up, then took down, the Precision 5510 page. Then, after a week or so they put it back up. So I canceled the XPS order and ordered a 5510 decked out. The next day I get a call from Dell that my order didn't go through (I used the wrong address for the business card.) I gave them the correct address and the order went through. Two days later they called back and said my order would be canceled do to lack of parts. Just then they opened the 7510 page and configurator and I said, screw this, I'm getting the 7510. Obviously it's not as small and sleek as the 5510, but after looking at the innards of the 5510 and 7510, I'd say I make the right choice for me.

But no, I ordered with ONLY the 500GB 5400 HDD. Which I PROMPTLY cloned to the 950 PRO M.2, which gave me room for my 850 PRO SSD data and storage drive (with cable!)

I haven't, hadn't.... in fact I looked and it wasn't installed on my laptop. Went to the Dell website and installed it - had never used it before - it appears there are "profiles" for AutoCAD, 3DS Max, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. I've selected the AutoCAD optimization profile and restarted, but I need to wait till I work tomorrow to see if it makes a significant difference.

On another front, the wife's Surface Book has developed this manilla folder yellow spot on the right side of the screen. After reading online it looks like a manufacturing defect so I'm going to have to exchange it for a replacement. Not sure I would know what to do if I had a computer without problems!

To be honest with you, when I got my machine, I installed Adobe CS5 and turned on the optimizer in Dell's utility, which is actually pretty cool, but never did an A/B of before and after. I also installed OneCNC XR4 Mill Expert and Chief Architect, which do not have profiles, so I made profiles with NVidia's control panel. It would be nice to be able to make custom profiles with Dell Performance Optimizer....

To be honest the 7510 is good enough for me but the missing TB3 port and lack of UHD touch makes it a non starter. I do like the full keyboard with numpad.

    My 2 cents

Well, not 30 minutes into the workday and just trying to pull up a picture I get "application has been blocked from accessing graphic hardware." So much for the Optimizer helping things out! Grrrrrrr..... just what I want to do, spend more time with Dell Support.
