    We want the right balance. My Toshiba R500 uses a combination of metal and plastic. As far as I can see the E6400 doesn't use much plastic. The basic chassis seems to be a complicated bit of metal.

    I stand corrected. I did look hard at the Toughbook. It is a notch down on performance and uses expensive MicroDIMMs but it was the thickness that put me off.

    -4.1 lbs with 6-cell battery
    -3.7 without modular DVD
    -$1480 with low end ram and hd
    -Will be receiving later this week, decided over 6400 because of weight.
