Thanks alot John! Would you think that a dedicated graphics would bump the weight alot higher? Also, is the travelmodule used in the 1,95 kg stated by dell included on all e6400 or does it have to be purshased seperatly?

Very solid construction, nice keyboard action (but not difficult to improve on my Zepto) and very bright (LED backlit) display.

The integrated graphics version still has a lot of heat sink inside. The 1.95kg headline weight assumes a 4 cell battery and the weight saver module (which is an optional extra). I've just checked the optical drive. It weighs only 147g and is one of the super-slim 9.5mm thick units.

Next I must do a backup image of C: It came with the XP downgrade installed but no XP reinstallation disc.

    You give me confidence :)

Did they forget the disk or did you not order it? Just wondering.

It's ambiguous whether you get the XP media "English - (Downgrade) Genuine Windows Vista ™ Business 32Bit SP1 to XP Pro - with Media [Included in Price]".

And here's my illuminated keyboard photo:

Yes. Also long right shift key and short left shift key on the European keyboards.

is that uneven lighting on the F5-F9 keys? the ones around it seem a lot brighter than those, or is it just the picture?
