John, does the back of your screen flex at all? I'm thinking of getting the E6400 instead...

There is very little flex and I am unable to cause any ripples on the display.

Hmmm...5.1 lbs, when the Dell specifications cheat at 4.3lbs. I knew that it would be a hair more, but that is a good amount more.

I don't know John, what do you think of the weight?

Yeah.. how does it feel while handling it? I've been thinking now what will I have to skip out in the configuration to get my e6400 to around 4.75 lbs. It seems that John ordered a configuration which is pretty basic and similar to what I would've ordered and so i don't know what will I have to eliminate to achieve sub 5 pound weight. Most def cannot take the 4 cell battery option and if that's the sole difference then I must say that Dell has grossly misled all in their advertising cuz good 99.9% of buyers won't opt for the 4 cell battery.

Anyone echos my thoughts or their own 2 cents?...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but looking through the configuration there doesn't even seem to be a 4-cell battery option. Anyone getting that as a choice?

    John,

Can you comment on the screen? Is it pretty sharp? Colors good? How does it compare to say...the MacBook Pro?

I've heard that the LED technology causes colors to be more white, less rich, is this true? (like flourescent lightbulbs vs. incandescent bulbs)

It's heavier than I would like. I wouldn't want to drop it on my foot.

I think you can get it as an option if you order by phone, but no cost saving.

Yes, whiter whites than on my Zepto which I used to think was a good screen (CMO) and is much, much brighter (I'm running it on about 2/3rd brightness). The colors look OK to me.

Does the weight make such a big difference? There aren't many laptops of 14.1" size under 5.0lbs... (Panasonic Y7 is like 4lbs, T400 is around 5lbs, same with HP 6930p)
