.. sorry.. I'm not sharing but asking!

Can someone be nice and share with the rest of the E6400 hunters, the weight of their new glorious Latitude E6400? PLEEEEEZZZE!!

Much thanks to "CDMC" for posting the "true" weight of their (dunno the gender) E6500 a couple of posts down.

The weight is THE ONLY reason I'm holding off on ordering the E6400 as I don't wan't to get disappointed with a brick especially since a couple of posts have speculated it to be close to 6 lbs. Good thing is that now that we know what a decently configured E6500 is weighed at - 5.9 lbs.. hopefully the E6400 won't see North of 5 lbs. Cuz that's when I'm ordering this baby pronto..

OK. Here we are, for my E6400 ( 6 cell battery, HDD, LED backlit display, backlit keyboard, link to detailed specs above):

    In kilograms:

    In pounds and ounces:

And I like the size of the optional slim PSU, except for the very short cable.

Now to see if it actually works!

Nice going. You lucky man :)

Btw.. Is the power plug backwards compatible with earlier Latitude models (D-series..)?

Nice. Can you test battery life (light browsing or text edit)? Also heat etc.
(btw. browsing on sites with *******ed flash is not always light cpu usage...)
    Thank you!

is the lcd lid mag alloy? there were some talks on the m4400 having a plastic cover... i hope that's disproven quickly otherwise i'd be pretty disappointed. btw latitudes look way hotter than precisions... whyyy!!!

The standard 90W PSU is PA-10 series and not one of the new slim E series PSUs. Its rating is 19.5V, 4.62A for the big PSU. The slim PSU is PA-12 family, 19.5V, 3.34A.

Give me time - I haven't switched it on yet! BTW Firefox and Flashblock sorts out the problem with Flash eating the power (I would ban Flash if I could).

The display back feels cold to touch when the computer is off. That's a good indication of it being metal.
