@shrine can you run moninfo and show us the exact panel name?

B140HAN? Because there are many variations of this panel with multiple different suffixes.


X1C6 FHD can come with either B140HAN01.x variants (the .0 is crap 6-bit garbage, the .1 is 6+2FRC standard ok-ish) and a BOE NVM panel according to someone on reddit.

 

If I understand the data correctly then the notebook with the SLP panel has a nominal 41Whr battery and used about 34Whr of power in 9.57 hours, ie an average power drain of 3.56W. In comparison, the notebook with the standard panel has a nominal 53Whr battery (actually nearly 58Whr) and used 56Whr of power in 9.88 hours which gives an average power drain of 5.67W. This is over 50% higher than the SLP panel suggesting that the SLP panel combined with the bigger battery might be good for 15 hours.

However, as you note, the usage during the tests varied. Nonetheless, a significant increased in battery time will be of consierable interest to some users while others will give priority to the display quality.

Anyone have a windows 7 driver for the touchpad?
it's a IEI Integration Corp DELL081C:00 044E:121F Touchpad
HID\DELL081C&COL03

The windows 10 driver (obviously) doesn't work and my n00b level mod of the inf didn't work. I know, i know win7 blah blah, but hey if someone knows or can lend a hand?

 

How are you even running Windows 7 on this? Windows 7 doesn't support beyond 6th gen Core i processors.

 

Has anyone had any luck setting up the 'upper' middle button as a middle click? Since this is a precision trackpad, Windows 10 takes over. No options for that middle button in Windows 10.

 

Well not officially, but you add USB3, nvme, serialio drivers to the win7 iso then run wufuc to bypass windows update complaints. I have everything working except touchpad.

 

For anyone interested, I got the touchpad working in windows 7. It's not 100% as pinching to zoom etc doesn't work (for now), but for basic scrolling and button presses do.

 

Anybody got any comments on these two screen options?

My panel is N140hce-G52, Innolux. No PWM and good colour/contrast. I use it at 40% brightness. The only panel I know of that has PWM is the BOE one.Not sure about the touch ones.
