I'm thinking of buying the Dell Latitude 7490 from Amazon: https://amzn.to/2NRkNb2.

I'm looking at the lowest price of $999.99. The seller claims that the item is brand new and has been never used. There's a 30 day warranty for no DOA, and no other reason for return is accepted. There's also Dell warranty for three years.

Should I buy it from Amazon? Or is Dell Outlet the only option. Right now I can't find anything with my specs in the Outlet. I need 8th gen Intel quad-core processor with 16gb RAM + 512gb SSD. Want an FHD display as well along with TB3 and a backlit keyboard.

UPDATE: I removed the panel (If you follow Dell's manual it shows the indent to remove the bezel under the Dell logo. It's actually under the hinge area. You can use a plastic scribe to click it open. Be careful, the entire trim is adhered with tape so pull carefully) The panel shows an LG panel.
    Model: LP140WF9 SP B1
I can't find any information on this panel and how much energy it is rated for. Any help would be appreciated to determine if this is a SLP panel.

UPDATE 2: I realized I could measure the difference in wattage with my trusty Killawatt. I enabled airplane mode, cranked the backlight to the highest setting, enabled screen off with the power cable inserted and waited about 10 minutes for processes to settle. I took baseline measurements with and got 9-10 watts. I waited for the monitor to fall asleep and after about 10 minutes it settled in at 5-6 watts. The delta is about 4 to 5 watts. According to https://blog.dellemc.com/en-us/formula-success-simple-fast-functional-desirable-dell-latitude/ there should be a 2 watt difference compared to the regular panel which pulls around 5 watts. My results were consistent with these parameters. I called Dell and they are sending the AU O panel.

UPDATE 3: So my last test with the Kilawatt was inaccurate. I obtained the replacement AU O which is a confirmed SLP and it behaved with the same wattages. When the monitor turns off in Windows the display adapter must also be turning off resulting in the extra wattage drop.

I confirmed with other sources that the SLP manufacturers are Sanyo, Au O, and LG at this point. Sanyo: SHP1497, AuO: AUO503D (part: B140HAN05.0)

I purchased my 7490 with the SLP panel. I can confirm that on my invoice and configuration in my Dell account. It shows:

    Y8Y7J : Module,Liquid Crystal Display, 14FHD,BENT,Au Optronics Corp,S lip,749Y8Y7J : Module,Liquid Crystal Display, 14FHD,BENT,Au Optronics Corp,S lip,749

I did a MonInfo and Device Manager check and I got the following panel:
    MONITOR\LGD05B7

A call into Dell tech support was not useful. The rep shows me my configuration on the Dell support site and shows me the line I posted above. He says that confirms that I have the SLP even though the manufacturer is different.

In MonInfo it shows it is an LG panel. Was I shipped the wrong panel? How can I test if I in fact do have the SLP panel? I know Dell swaps parts but I hadn't heard that LG was also making the SLP panel.

This is harder for me to actually give you relevant information, since you are outside of the US. Dell USA has different panels depending on whether or not you chose WWAN capability (doesn't need the card, but needs the antennas). In this specific case, a 600:1 contrast panel vs a 1000:1 contrast panel.

In my experience with Dell USA's ordering site, if it doesn't explicitly state it has something, it does not have it. Dell USA has ~12 configurations for each Latitude, typically. Usually, about 1/3 of those are configurable. Out of the configurable ones, usually one or two have what you are looking for.

When I bought my E5450, only one of the 12 "configurations" had the GT 840m GPU, an option I wanted. With the 7490s recently on the US site, only one has Thunderbolt 3 as an option.

It works ok when after your first set it up but after awhile it stops recognizing my fingerprints. I tried adding other fingers and I still can't get it to work consistently. The IR camera, however, works amazingly well with Windows Hello.
