If the performance has been good, I wouldn't bother with it. ;)

Check the temperatures of the GPU, if it's below 140F, you chance of GPU failure is low.

My GPU idles at 62C (144F) and tops out at 88C (190F) under very heavy load.

I've heard of others bringing their nvidia GPU temps down to low 50's C or below at idle and peaking out at upper 60's C via copper mod. I cannot, however, find anyone who has done this mod on a D630 - I don't know why

That's not a bad temperature. Personally, I didn't bother with the copper mod because it's not worth the expense. I suspect the reason why more M1330 owners did it is because we still have warranty and they don't, so a motherboard replacement is costly for them.

My D630 has a 120Gb hdd. It's nearing full as I need to carry a lot of stuff. (Sure some I don't always need but knowing what isn't easy.)

So I can get a new 160hdd but wonder if it would be better to add it as a second and transfer 80gig over to free up the first or do a swap out

What are the pro's and con's of this?

    Any advice most welcome,.:)

get a 320+gb hdd and keep your optical. The price differences are minimal

@r.bartlett- I bought a 500GB Seagate from newegg.com and it cam with a free 2.5" external drive enclosure which made copying everything from the original drive to this one breeze... You put the new drive in the enclosure, plug it into the USB port of your laptop, run the included CD of copying software to copy the entire hard drive over to the new one via USB. then shut it down, pull the old hdd, insert the new one, and Viola!! Perfect!! Plus now I have a 120GB external hdd to use as backup of my most important stuff.

    Hope that helps.

I checked Newegg's site and it doesn't look like they are giving the free enclosure any more, but mot cost less than $20.00 Just make sure you get one that can support a SATA drive! Good Luck!

    Hi

    Thanks guy's

Probably I will just have to byte the bullet (see what I did there :) and swap drives. The 500gig and W7 upgrade looks the best option I guess

    Thanks :)

Oh and I am in the UK sadly for me :-/

What was the copying software you got and how well did it copy as I have heard it can scramble some things up ??
