Not that I want to but in, but it doesn't matter if it's a D630 or a T60 ... they'll all run just as fast with the same hardware.

Hey thanks for replying guys well its not a constant clicking sound, but i know for sure it is from the hard drive. I will hear it almost ever 3 minutes or so its more like a few clicks proceeded by a louder "thumpish" click (you know when you drop a rock into a pond and the rock goes in with a plop) haha kinda like that, hopefully you get the picture or the sound in this case, so do you guys think theres cause for alarm?

edit ok after listening to it closer the thump is followed by 2 more clicks not as loud but a lot more prominent then the routine sound of hard drive accessing
to add to that when the laptop is warmer it happens alot more often than when I first turn the laptop on and its cool.

Also every 10 or so hibernates the laptop is unable to return from hibernation and gets stuck at the booting up stage(the white bar will be completely filled at the bottom but nothing else will happen), right before where windows should pop up.

I took out the HD and put it back in less click noise but also I enabled ready boost with a usb drive. Maybe That Helped.

Clicking from a hard drive is not good news. I'd call Dell up and ask them for a replacement. The drive could last for quite awhile, or it could go south tomorrow. I had a desk top hard drive that I could hear clicking. It lasted for probably about six months, and then I started to get all kinds of read/write errors on it.

    dordale :)

yea in the bios you can turn the hard drive to quiet mode, with it turned to quiet no clicking noise noticeable.

Pretty much, if it's clicking, chances are thigns are going wrong. Clicking means something's hitting somethign else, and sooner or later that'll lead to problems.
