I bet it will ship earlier than that. Mine shipped about 2 weeks early, and we have the same config except I got the 2.4 ghz CPU.

I notice on Dell's website they are saying that the WXGA+ screen will delay shipment by 12 days...that's probably built into your estimated ship date. I would bet that if they get the screens in, your computer will ship much sooner than 8/20.

With the basic edition of 3DMark06 using WXGA settings, my laptop scored an 1127. I was impressed.

Bumporama! Come on guys, give us your impressions. I know this is not as exciting as a T61p or a m1330, but still!

I need some advice! As a photographer, I need a reliable and portable laptop. I think I'll go for the D630. However, glossy screens are usually recommended for doing stuff like video and photo editing.

Do you think the D630's screen is good enough for photo editing? Some people say that "colors are not vibrant" on the matte screen. I'm just wondering how pictures from your digital cameras look like on the D630!

    Thanx:)

    zwoerdkop--

I'm not a professional photographer, but I'm pleased with my D630 screen. I did have to tweak some of the NVIDIA settings after receiving it...but I think my photos look fine on it.

Out of curiosity, how fast are your boot times? From when you turn on your laptop, to seeing your Vista desktop (or XP desktop) with the mouse arrow.

If you do time this, please let me know what Windows version or Linux, etc, and how many Processes are running.

    I am just curious.

    Hi again.

Is there also a way to check CPU temperature on the D630? Is there a suggested free application for this?
