You should have purchased both the 6 cell and 9 cell all together or 2 6 cell's. In this way, you save more money.

The guy's bought his stuff already, be happy for him man, don't give the guy a case of unnecessary remorse :)

Anyway, in terms of negative comments, this thread has not seen a lot of action and I can only surmise that it is due to people happily tapping away on their D630s rather than posting complaints. This is a good thing for the most part, but it helps to have owners chime in. One's experience can help another clueless user.

I have been using my D630 for about a month and any program that has to access the internet (Outlook 2003, IE7, Firefox) seems to get hung up or is horribly slow (2gb ram, T7300, Vista Ult). My desktop is using the same Linksys B router and seems much faster. I like the computer, but it seems slower than my old Thinkpad R40. Does anyone have any ideas on how to speed things up? I just took off Mcafee and switched to AVG because it is less of a resource hog. I hope this is just a vista problem and not a hardware problem (Dell diagnostics came out ok). Thanks for the input.

Sounds like a firewall (definitely Windows) issue. What FW are you using?

they 1 key on my keyboard seems to have gotten all screwed up overnight ... I tried to push it down and it made a crunching noise. Has anyone had any experience with taking off the keys? Is it something that can be done or will trying to do that break the key? And any chance dell will get me a new keyboard, seeing as it just broke?

Sounds like you probably have a dried-up bread crumb or something similar that fell under the key to me. Try blowing it out with a can of compressed air or vacuuming it ... worth a try.

Just received my D630 the night before last. Have been busy setting it up. So far I'm very happy with it:

    Specs
    T7300 (2ghz)
    1 gig Ram
    WXGA display
    80 gb 7200 rpm
    128 Nvidia Quardro NVS 135
    9 cell batt.
    Win XP Professional

I'm glad I went with the WXGA screen...for me I think the WXGA+ screen would be just too hard on my (aging) eyes. I actually kinda like the way the 9 cell battery sticks out...it seems to make typing on the keyboard more comfortable.

I really don't have any negatives yet. I love the size/weight and it seems to be really sturdily built.

    dordale :)

Funny no one had bought the travel lite module. I guess .4 lb doesnt make alot of heavy weight on it.

The travel lite module should be free. It should be thrown in as a replacement part in case one doesn't want to travel with the modular drive. I mean, how is it any different than the dummy plastic PC Card thingy that you have to take out when you insert an actual card in there?

Are there any electronics in the travel lite module that justify its purchase?
