Is it very audible when you use it (not gaming)?, or can you barely hear it?

No noise from fan. The only way I can tell it's on is by putting my hand near the back left part of the laptop. I feel the "wind", so to speak.

And nope, I hear just fine :)

    Best,
    Ilham

Well, I pulled the plug on the Turbo Memory from Amazon. Let's see how it fits, so to speak...

The Service Manual speaks of two miniPCI slots, does this mean, I can stick in the WWAN modem in the other or am I out of luck since this is an either/or situation?

I received my d630 yesterday. The sales/order process was a bit of a pita. Old sales rep for my biz account screwed up order then went MIA. Next sales rep put through order with wrong shipping. However she expedited to front line assembly so as soon my cc was charged it went right into production immediately and I got credited for shipping charges. I ordered on 7/16 shipped on 7/19.

    Releveant specs are:

    T7300 2.0Ghz
    1 GB (1 stick)
    80 GB 7200
    WXGA
    nvs 135m
    Upek Fingerprint Reader

    My thoughts are:
    • I almost ordered a docking station ddock with pci slot for two hundred some bucks at time of order. Glad I didn't because I snagged two from seller on ebay for $20 /each. They work perfectly and are in excellent cosmetic condition.
    • Very glad I went with only WXGA, any smaller and my eyes could not take it. Last Inspiron 8200 had 1600x1200 res which started out cool but after all these years my eyes can't take it anymore. I was worried WXGA would be too big... it's not, it's perfect for me.
    • It's thinner than I thought, all the pictures I saw did not do it justice in size or the sparkles in the colors. I was pleasantly surprised how small it actually is.
    • Went with 6 cell battery because I don't want batt sticking out in front. It fits perfect on my lap and extra batt would suck. Ordered media bay battery for when I need extra batt life. Would by 9 cell if I traveled for longer hours. You hear ppl complaining about the weight... it's that massive 9 cell battery!!
    • My screen has major light leak at bottom. With the windows appearance I'm using it's not so noticeable. But when you sit above it, looking down you can really see it. It was shocking when I first booted xp and screen was all black around xp logo. My screen code is not the code I've seen other posting about, it's VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC., LGP I'm going to have search on this one... otherwise the screen is very sharp, very bright and overall impressive.

Overall I'm extremely happy with this laptop. It's absolutely amazing, responsive and just plows right through anything I throw at it. I was on here doing research, reading negative comments and such. I saw a couple ppl saying that most people post here about problems, etc. So I figured I'd speak up tell everyone how happy with my lappy I am. Take care!
