Looks like the recent leak of the E6x40/E7xxx series confirmed the info your Rep was able to speculate on. Any chance he might have any 'speculation' to spread on the new Precisions coming later on?

An idea if the 900p and FHD screens will be the same as on the 6530 (which I've read mixed reviews on)? Any chance of being able to add a mSATA SSD? Windows 7 still an option?

    1) No word, but for the E6x40s I'd bet on Dell sticking to lower-quality, cheap screens. A lot of enthusiasts would pay extra for IPS, but the businesses that buy these by the 1000s won't. A premium screen option on the E7x40s seems more likely, given the competition.
    2) No idea on mSata.
    3) Our rep was saying Win7 still an option.

    Thanks Mr. Handy,
I don't need high end like IPS,..besides Dell wants you to jump up to a precision for that. Most of the reviews (wish I could see one before I buy) say the FHD screen on the E6530 was a step back from the 6520. Just something with decent color, black level and contrast, please.;-).

Can't speak for the E65x0 FHD change over generations as we only had the one E6530 at the office, but I was pretty pleased with it.

The dangerous thing with Dell is they often source slightly different panels from different manufacturers. Of the 3 E6420s we have, one came with a Samsung panel and had MUCH better contrast than the other two with LG panels.

I am rather excited for the potential E6440 ATG. The XFR line is supposed to be refreshed too! I bet I need to wait another 3-6 months before those information is available.

Latitude E6540; why are they have this ugly design now for 3. time? Latitude E6400 / 6410 have looked far better, I want those old design back or something new!!!
Latitude E7440; I have hopes for this model if gets better Haswell APU than the 15Watts versions and two memory slot. Pictures or more info in this model?

^Totally agreed on the design. The hinges look so 2005. They need to step up away from the roundy shell looking design.

Agreed. I prefer black for business machines. Although if I was buying a laptop tomorrow I'd probably go for an EliteBook 8470p. Chunky but nice styling.
