Anyone seen any info for next generation haswell based latitudes? Will it still be E series or is dell going to be releasing a F series?
I'm going to shoot the same question to our corporate dell rep and see if I get any answers, but just curious if anyone else out there has heard anything.
    thanks

I read speculation about the F series like a year back. Looks like its about time.

Please let the good Dell lord bring back the edgy, rigid design. Non of this roundy clam shell non sense.

I don't mind the roundy clam shell.
I just wish they would have option for higher resolution displays.
I sent a note to our corporate rep, waiting to see what he has to say.

Ok here's what I found out.

It will still be E series. Will be released starting in June. So will be E6X40 and E7x40 series. Yes a new 7x40 series. I'm told will be 12.5" or 14" ultra book style (no optical drive).

All models will have optional high def screens up to 1920x1080 touch screens (including the 12.5" model)

The 12.5" and 14" thin E7x40 series will use 17watt haswell while the full size E6x40 series will use the 47 watt haswell.

802.11ac will be supported as well as 4g LTE.

My guy tells me he has seen 2 designs thus far. 1 is identical to the E6X20 and 6X30 series. the other is slightly different. He is not sure which one will make it to final production.

    "Slightly" Darn it.

Looks like my E6410 is here to stay another 2 years at least. *Sigh...

Hopefully they will keep the things that make Latitudes great and not sacrifice them to thin-ness. i.e. docking, removable batteries, drives, express card (although would be happy to see that replaced by Thunderbolt). Higher res screens are long overdue (I still use a D430 because I see 1366x768 as a downgrade) and I'd like a touch option too. Light weight is important, how thick it is - much less so.

Pretty sure that the rumors on a E7xxx series are holding up --- E6x40 should be similar to current Latitudes while E7xxx will be the new ultra-thin models.
