I have received my Latitude E6400 today, very very nice machine.
But I have to return it due to a stupid dent on the frame of the screen. :(
I guess I'll have a new one in 2-3 weeks as it took me about a week and half to have it.

My old Inspiron 9100 (I think that was the number) had terrible flex. Dell refused to fix it for folk, so we came about a workaround that involved putting folded strips of aluminium foil underneath the keyboard! Worked a treat though.

My wife, the most non-techie person in the world, has been spending some time with my Covet this morning and several times she has said "Wow, this screen is amazing." This is good news for two reasons. First...there is hope that she is actually gaining appreciation for new technology. Second...there is hope that I won't be in the dog house after she sees the bill!

    Hey Old Man,

What is the part number for the interposer? Are there different ones for the m6400. Mine is still in production but i would like to make sure that mine will come with an interposer so i can install a 2nd hard drive myself (non scsi just a regular sata hard drive).

I guess I have no idea what "keyboard flex" is.

I have a 4.5 year old Inspiron 9100 that I use every day and I have never had any problem with this keyboard. What is KF? Is it if I push hard on the keyboard that it goes "inward" a bit? I dont notice it at all unless I really push hard on the keys and that is not any reflection to typing day to day.
Ive taken this laptop apart at least several times, but never modded this keyboard to help with this. I dont get what the problem is......

Maybe I dont understand what KF is. But I can say this INS 9100 has never bothered me as far as the keyboard. I consider this a VERY solid machine build wise. Ive carried it to work every day for 4.5 years. Its still in WAY better shape than my old Gateway was after about 3 years.

So Im not worried about KF in the Covet considering I have a laptop that apparently has a lot and its never bothered me a bit.

Hmmm...it's worth a shot. How's that saying go...it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Of course, if you wear the pants like I do in my house then....oops...she's calling...got to go fold the towels and match the socks.
