Specs in sig but finally there are other 1700 owners!!! I rarely ever see vostro 17in owners let alone 1700 owners. Glad to hear your system runs as smooth as mine. No matter what I do its 100% stable and cool, might be the only thing keping me from buying the new FX coming out in days.

One of the reasons why they run so cool is because they're so big with tons of room inside the chassis. The Vostro 1700 is my 2nd best laptop purchase beside my T60. The T60 is just an incredible piece of hardware.

Yeah, mixed with a cryo notebook cooler it runs room temp while gaming. Couldn't be happier with my 1700, and Im hoping this is enough to fight off the want to sell and purchase the FX as it is available, albeit on back order, from BB. The dell does everything I want including games, but Im looking into working in the video game industry since so far my post college career has been well stale at best. So I will need a more powerful gaming rig I think.

Just prop mine up with a book and turn the fan on full - never see my 8600GT at 620/440 much above 61/62°C.
