Couldn't install the Dell Controlpoint software 1.1.10 A07 - on my latitude e6400 it says that the version I am installing is older than my current version.

    You downloaded the wrong file.

EDIT: To clarify, when presented with the list of two files to download, you want the one with the longer name.

I had the same thing earlier today with a file I downloaded a few days ago. I think downloaded it again and it installed OK. Maybe Dell had originally posted the wrong file. So try downloading again.

There's two of them up there. One is the original and the other is the newest update. There's no way to tell which is which without downloading both as the file names don't have a version or anything in them.

Do you get an entry in the system event log from Service Control Manager saying "Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the stisvc service" everytime the laptop refuses to suspend?

This makes me think it might be the build in webcam causing the problem, I did upgrade to the new driver for that a few days ago ...

Well it does not freeze when you log in (or it has not for me yet), but it still does not let you swipe all the time out of sleep mode. I look at it as a step in the right direction, but it still needs some work before I will call it acceptable.
