Yes the 9 cell sticks out, the 6 cell is flush. The 9 cell is supposedly 3 more hours.

What do you mean by "the 6 cell is flush"?
And is 3 hours extra what Dell says?
    Isn't the 6 cell like 3 hoursish?
And the 9 cell would add 1/2 that I'de guess
So about 4 1/2 hours for 9 cell and 3 for 6 cell?
    Is that about right?
I'll have to find some pics of the M4400 with the 9 cell to see what I think...
EDIT: I can't find any pcis... Does anyone know where I can see the differnce between the 6 and 9 cell?
And does anyone know where a review is for this yet?

The 6 cell is flat with the back of the laptop. Depending on your configuration, you can get 5.5 hours with the 6 cell and 8.5 with the 9 cell.

Is that real use or what Dell says?
    That sounds pretty good...
I'm gonna try to get the 9 cell

That is light usage with P-series processors, LED screen and Intel graphics.

@spajix: For pictures, check out Dell's gallery on the M4400 page. The third image in the gallery shows the M4400 with the 9-cell battery.

yea it sticks out, but somehow its one of the few laptops i've seen where a battery that sticks out seems to blend in well with the design. it looks like a part of the laptop, not something stuck on.

you should get 4-5 hrs from the 9 cell vs 3ish hrs from the 6 cell under normal use

i think there are pictures in the owners thread

The M4400 doesn't offer intel ghx so how can it be with intel ghx?

I seen the pic on Dells site with the 9 cell
    It doesn't look to bad
It looks better with 6 but the improved battery life is worth it

Hopefully I'll get to order in a few hours
I'm gonna be highly annoyed if I don't...
