Is there any way you could run 3dmark on it? And is the backlight's brightness adjustable like the macbook pro or is it just full on or completely off? I hope my E6400 comes as fast as your E6500 did if I decide to order it. :) Thanks

seanbow, are you referring to keyboard backlight? according to this video, there are 10 levels of brightness.

Nice pictures there! thanks! more to come?! :D

btw, how do you find the keyboard? How about the touted "robust metal hinges?" Is it stiff, like you need two hands to open it? Does it wobble, like when you shake it, holding the base, in the air?

    Thanks again!

    CDMC,

Congratulations! I think you might be one of the first people on this board to receive the E6500.

Could you comment on the black level/brightness/viewing angles of the LED screen compared to previous laptops you've owned?

I will be moving stuff over to the new laptop over the next few days, so I haven't put photo's on it to look at how the black level retention or default color temp is. I can say that brightness gets to searing, the display angles from my initial screwing around don't seem much better than LCD.

In regards to some other questions. I won't be running the benchmarks, I have no idea how to, and I have the integrated graphics so it wouldn't be of any interest to the people here. I don't play games at all and battery life was more important to me.

The case feels very nice and stiff. It appears to be all metal, and the keyboard is solid and quiet.
