I'm probably going to use a single hard drive in my M6400, but if I want to add another HD in the future will I need some kind of mounting bracket to install it? Does anyone know if the empty drive bay has the screws and bracket already installed?

    I think yes~
1.I've ask my rep, who confirmed this for me by asking Dell's tech~
2.From the picture of my previous attachment, the item No.38 and No.39 seems to be used for mounting HDD (I only ordered the cheapest HDD because the price is almost 2~2.5x for me to buy new HDDs myself). :D

You mean yes I need to get a bracket, or yes the bracket is already in the empty bay? I don't know what pictures you are talking about, do you have links?

Based on what Dell has done with it's previous 2 HDD laptops, the second mounting bracket will not be included unless you order the second hard drive.

The second HDD bracket will be included in the system with or without ordering a second HDD.

    This is interesting.

    HP's HDX 18t hit their website today. The upgrade from a P8400 to a QX9300? $225. For Dell, that's a $900 upgrade. Wow.

I'm not saying that's a better computer, but that price difference is enormous, especially when you consider the Instant Savings on the M6400 just fell by $100.

Man, when is the LED screen not to mention the Covet version coming out?!?! I hounded Dell and they werent gonna say anything. Im so frustrated. I know that the day after I order one without those options, then they will get released. Why the hell is it taking so long to have the options the laptop was advertised on to be available?!? Considering its gonna be a month from order to obtain, I just want to get this ordered already...........

    ok, rant over.
