right, firepro m7740 and m7820's official stock cooler is fx3700m one, and someone even reported m7740 can run well under fx2700m one;)

Amazing! I'd definitely get one if I run across a good offer.

I wonder if the FX3800M didn't run because of some specific Nvidia issue (as you said it's a known problem on the M6500) or if it was some BIOS incompatibility as I'd put my money on that card being compatible with the M6400 (e.g. pretty much the same GPU as FX3700M, just different manufacturing process) rather than the M7820 (which is a different architecture than M7740). But, I prefer the AMD card, anyway (more modern and lower TDP) so it's good news.

right, m7820 almost as powerful as quadro 5000m in most application

i think this is my card's problem, fx3800m already comfirmed to work on m6400 by china seller, im gonna rma it and if i get another fx3800m work good, maybe ill swap back to my favorite nvidia:D

Hey! Just purchased a M4600 as my current laptop wasn't handling larger CAD files very well (see specs in sig).

It'll be my first "business" machine and I can't wait to get it!

    Specs are: i7 2860QM, 16GB DDR3, 256GB SSD, Nvidia Quadro 2000M, FHD LED screen (1920x1080).

I've already purchased a HDD caddy and a WD 500GB HDD!

Hope these specs will help me out in AutoCAD. Having issues with large floor plan files with large hatched areas.

Anyway, what are my options of overclocking the GPU with the Nvidia?

This thread is for m6400, not m4600.

Anyway, I suggest you go google "msi afterburner 2.2.2", install it, adjust all the settings & see for yourself

Hello guys, I am a new owner of the M6400 here. I have a question that I created a thread for, but got no response.

I am trying to convert this silver unit into Covet. Everything is compatible, but I am not so sure about fitting the covet E2E screen cover/screen glass combo.

Do I HAVE to have RGB LED screen to fit into the Covet cover? Or can WUXGA CCFL also fit in? I assume that only RGB LED may fit in, as CCFL needs inverter and the lcd cover may not fit the inverter. (Case with M4400 with different screen types)

can I just swap it right in with the Nvidia 2700M? I read a thread about a few people who were getting brightness issue with it, but no resolution.

Please let me know if you know ANYTHING. I REALLY appreciate your help in advance. Thank you.
