    gulfstreamtec,

Don't know if you are still waiting for advice or not. If you have the Vista DVD, just install Vista on the partition that currently holds Windows 7 RC. When you boot up with the installation dvd, it will ask which partition you want to use. Won't affect the other partitions at all.

    k4cz0rpl,

Have you tried running any of the Dell diagnostics software? Does 3D graphics only fail when the machine is connected to power supply?

    Hi there.
Just a quick question regarding the M6400.Is it possible to upgrade the FX3700m with the FX3800M featured on the M6500? Do they have the same form factor?.

Also I just got a spare E8435 CPU similar to the X9100,is it possible to upgrade the M6400 with it?Will the Battery life last as long?

    Thanks

    Hi all !

I'd like to upgrade my 6400 with an SSD. I'm not familiar with all the new interfaces ... Could someone sum it up, like whats compatbile and what's not ? (that is, for 2.5 internal drives)

The hot pick seems to be the SSD OCZ Vertex 3. Has anyone tried ? Is a good choice ?

    Thanks !

Any 2.5" 9mm SATA SSD will work. I don't recommend OCZ anymore due to the 25 nm PR fiasco they had recently. Go with Intel or any other SandForce manufacturer (GSkill, Corsair, Mushkin)

Thanks for your input Tsuande !

About interfaces, i got mixed up because of the different controlers, thinking they might not be all compatible with motherboards families.

Seen the 34 nm rollback on the Vertex2, but the 3 is said 25nm for what i know ... but that was a harsh move

Maybe you could quote what would be your favorite pick ? (beeing a web developper, small files transfer matters)

I just installed the 80GB version of Intel's mSATA SSD but it is not recognized on my system (BIOS A10). I tried the WWAN and the FCM connectors. I'm in RAID too..

    HELP!

Anyone notice significantly increased fan activity with A10 BIOS?

Video driver update and audio over DisplayPort

I had to upgrade the driver for the FX2700M video card in order to play a game (kept crashing in OpenGL in Dell's released drivers). In upgrading to the drivers available on NVIDIA's site, everything works flawlessly and video performance is significantly faster. HOWEVER: I lost audio over DisplayPort. If I revert to Dell's video driver I of course get audio back, but then I cannot play my game.

Does anyone know how I can get DisplayPort audio back while keeping NVIDIA's driver?
