Am I the only one around here who thinks that 1920x1080 on a 15" monitor is completely nuts??? Be sure to order a microscope because you are going to need it to read the screen fonts!!!

Seriously, I expect that people just end up changing the display resolution to a non-native setting to make the fonts readable, but this is a very poor way to set up a display for a couple of reasons.

There are some on this site who would definitely agree with you, but me personally, I love it. I have the FHD IPS and it is a thing of beauty. Nice and sharp. Windows is set to scale the fonts to 130%, but the screen is still at its native resolution. Some websites have small fonts that do not scale up, but even then I have no problem reading it.

Seriously, you old guys must have very poor eyesight.

I am running the native res and WIN DPI setting is 100% as is my browser scaling.

Well the people that can afford Workstations like these in the first place are older, more experienced people as the biggest market share so... They got a right to complain. However, it does feel a bit dense even in my own opinion with 1080p on a 15.6" platform.

The M4500 had a 1600x900 option, and Dell felt it in their ego to take the option away from the M4600.

Even a fully spec'ed M4600 is not what I would call expensive.

1080P feels fine to me on this size display.

It is still over $1,500 USD and over $2,000 USD full specced. That is a lot for a laptop, considering the average laptop buyer often hesitates to even go over $1,000 USD. I think $1,500 USD is the upper limit before you call expensive.

    Just my opinion of course.

I have used a 1080p on a 15.6" and at first it was really good and fitting but overtime I felt a bit of strain reading the text on the desktop a bit. I prefer 1600x900 over 1920x1080 in a 15.6", unless the screen is of high caliber like RGBLED, IPS, or 95% Gamut Enhanced WLED. However, there is no excuse for a 1366x768 on a 15.6". That is blasphemy.

People buying the M4600 aren't exactly your normal joe schmoe walk into a retail store and buy a laptop customer. :p

1368x768 true is unacceptable for a 15" laptop, but considering the M4400 had 1280x800 as the base resolution, there hardly is a difference IMO at that low resolution. Nonetheless, certain businesses do not care about screen resolution and buy in bulk from Dell via their corporate accounts and may get HD resolution. I would at least go HD+, but considering the M4600 offers the RGBLED + IPS screen, it would be criminal not to get that screen even for normal use. :p

    Hi guys,

I would like to install aftermarket a 128 SSD and I am quite sure to buy the Crucial sata III on Amazon.
My doubt was: am I sure i can install it into the M4600 (why on Crucial site it is compatible only with data transfer cable???)?

I'm so sorry for my stupid question, I tried to solve it by internet search without any answer and the M4600 manual is completely unusefull.

    Thanks in advance.
