    Can FHD and touchscreen coexist?

    Nope, not on the M4600.

Avoid the touchscreen on the M4600, it's not worth the resolution downgrade. And combine this with the fact that Dell is known to use terrible-quality 15.6" 1366x768 displays.

If you want a FHD touchscreen, the M6600 has the option available.

    edit1754,
Thanks for your alert. Yes, I've been pondering on M6600 because of two 256GB SSDs, but it could too heavy to travel around.

What external 2.5" eSata enclosure does anybody recommend that doesn't need an extra USB cable? no module bay is a royal PITA.

Must say, the WLED 1080 screen is a massive improvement over my 1600x900 M4500 pink-O one.Same sort of quality, albeit higher res than the one on my M4400.

I thought UEFI was enabled by default, mine isn't, and doesn't find any bootable anything if enabled, what's the story there?......at least it doesn't take 20 seconds to post on legacy bios like the M4500 does

Today I got a M4600 too. It's not my own but I need to support it.

Some Specs: I7-2720QM, 8GB, FirePro M5950, Intel 6300, BT, FHD WLED, no OS

As I unpacked it I was a bit disappointed that the plant in Shanghai still can't manfacture them properly. The palmrest wasn't put together on the front side at one place and the hinge cover was up a bit too. Some pressure to click it in fixed it. The backlit keyboard had a bulge round the touch stick because the two screws for the palm hadn't been screwed in. The where just like one round in.
Since I'm doing the IT department and had this several times with chinese Dell notebooks I didn'T returned it straight away...

After changing der HDD for a Crucial SSD and installing Windows 7 Pro I got one problem left.
The fans kicks in after some time after booting for like 10 seconds. It's running for 10s and turns of. After 10s it kicks in again for 10s.
The power plans, even the dell ones, don't realy change it. It's not a matte if it's on battery or AC. Did I missed a driver or a setting?
From what I read here it should be rather silent and not that annoying.

No question it's a pretty cool workstation. The FHD is like a charm. Would love do have something like this in my E6410.

I need to dig out my wide angle lens first. It's a beast!

Does anybody know if they make a smaller one? I don't remember seeing any options for a more compact unit. The one I got is big and heavy. Ugh.
