Uninstall "Dell Feature Enhancement Pack" from your laptop.

I order hundreds of PCs from Dell Outlet each year and rarely experience any problems with inventory not matching the shipment. Furthermore, if there are any issues, all it takes is a phone call to request System Exchange and you'll not only get what you originally wanted, but instead, something better.

Hello, I 'm very impressed with the performance of my m4600, I bought mine with the following specs; i7 Quad, Quadro 2000m, 8gb ram and the IPS display.

Editing performance is simply phenomenal, it reminds me of the hardware acceleration of a desktop with a Canopus or Matrox card.

The only thing that I don't like is that Premiere Pro, switches from windows Aero to windows basic on load.

Is this normal and is there a way to stop it from switching from Aero to Basic?

I do see a slight bit of red hue at the lower right corner, and a slight green at the top left, although you have to know what to look for to notice it, as it does not immediately pop out to me when viewing something dark.

Also I have to be at full brightness to notice it, about 75% seems bright enough for my photo work, and at that brightness the corner tint is barely noticeable.

That being said, i'm very glad I went with the IPS, I did a comparison to a few other notebooks at my office, a dell studio with a glossy fhd display, and my co workers macbook pro 15 with the high res mate display.

Comparably the m4600 IPS, has a much richer color to both, viewing angles were also better.

Please don't take my comments as gospel, I know every firsthand review anyone does is pretty much totally subjective. I plan on doing a few in depth comparisons in the coming weeks with some photos and video.

Top left? It is strange - most of have it in lower corners.
The problem is most visible when white color is in corners.

Ok I, just checked on all black and all white, for the all black, it's as described above. But on all white, I do see red in the right lower side corner and green on the left side corner, although on bottom edges of the corners it's clean.

Again it's something you need to look for to notice it, but it's there.

I wonder if this phenomenon is just a characteristic of this type of display?

I've never had a screen that did not have light bleed to some extent, although most of that bleed has been white, as that's the color of the back lighting in general.

This is the first display I've owned with rgb led, so it makes sense that on white or black we'll see something other than pure white, as it's really the combination of the r, g and b led's that are running the show.

Am I making an excuse for this?, no not really, I just get why it's happening.

Maybe we'll reach a point of nirvana when the OLED displays reach or exceed fhd at an affordable price point.

All in all even with a bit of corner tint, the IPS is IMHO the only way to go if you do any type of graphic design, photo or video work.

Maybe you have it right. Maybe your corners are like my bottom right one, which has relatively small magenta area. Unfortunately, my green area at bottom left corner is about 1 cm wide and 5 cm high or even more (I have difficulty to precisely see where it ends).
It is said to be caused by RGB LED backlight, but I haven't found reports of such phenomenon in HP Probook part of this forum.
My experience with LEDs is that backlight is uniform across whole display (though they were WLEDs).

Mine arrives on Monday or Tuesday so very eager to give it a test run. Did you use any parameters in your initial set up that I should know about?

I've been reading that you shouldn't defrag an SSD. If anyone has an SSD as your primary (boot) drive have you had to disable Windows from doing a routine defrag or does the Bios take care of that?

My photos are drooling with anticipation.

Hi, I got the m4600 from the outlet as well to compare with the m6600 and decide which one to keep... :D

It's not here yet but I was curious and wanted to ask some questions.

How is the 1080p screen(not the RGB..) on the M4600?

I also really really wanted a backlit keyboard.. but no customization in the outlet.. so.. :D
