I've run the internal diagnostics as well as a very thorough 8 hour or so Memtest 86+. No errors were found in the memory on any of the 4 modules. I've reseated them various time as I tried 1, 2, 3 and then 4 sticks in various slots. They all end up having issues. I suspect it may be I got a machine that just can't quite handle the faster timings for this RAM. Unfortunately, I don't have any other machine that can test the memory at the fast timings it supports.

Hello guys, I posted a request in the main Dell forum before noticing this m4600 Owners Lounge thread, so please excuse the cross posting.

The thread I started could be beneficial to others looking to buy a m4600.

Here's a summary: I'd like to see examples of both the IPS and Non-IPS screens in action. I posted a 1920x1080 calibration image for users to pull up full screen on their m4600's and take 4 photos from different angles to post to that thread.

If you have the time and want to help further the thread and do a little Dell evangelism please visit this thread and participate.

    m4600-ips-not-ips?

*I'm asking for photos, I know that there will likely be a huge amount of discrepancy from user to user, but if a few people chime in the crowd sourced consensus may be just what other users need to make a decision.

    Thanks for reading.

Is the PremierColor Software for IPS display now ready for customers? Anyone using it already?

    Best, Walter

Me too, can't change brightness with the FN key. Nor does the option under 'Power Options' in the Windows Control Panel work

Funny, I found another USB 3 quirk:

When I attach one Western Digital external HDD over USB3 it gets recognized and shows up.
Now when I attach one more over USB3 the unlock application opens up but the drive never gets recognized and doesn't show up?

When I attach the second drive to the USB2 side all works well...

Are these drives powered by the USB Port or do they plug into the wall for power?

    Bokeh:

They are powered by a seperate wall power adaptor, not through the USB port

    Thanks tom_bell07! +rep from me.

Since a while the Dell Client System Update application is showing strange and old updates for me. For the touchpad is showing the driver v7.1x08.101.105, A07 (09/19/2010) as new, while I have a much newer version installed. Even after I updated to this A10 version, it still shows me the same A07 to download and install.

I experienced odd scrolling in Firefox using the scroll wheel on my mouse. I though that it is a Firefox bug, but this update fixed it!
