Well, here's a good Dell story.

Originally was going to buy a M4500. Specced it out, ordered, etc. Got the order confirmation the next day, saw that I had forgotten to include the webcam... DOH! So I called to cancel the order, intending to re-order afterwards, remembering the webcam this time. Had the order cancelled, then had a slight change of heart... decided to buy a system off the Outlet instead, a fairly decked out M4400. Got that in last week, added an Intel SSD, was happy.

Flash forward to today. Package from Dell comes in to work... what could this be? Turns out it's the M4500 I had cancelled the order on the week before! Suddenly realizing I had TWO expensive laptops on my AmEx rather than one, I was not amused. Called Dell... and decided simply to return the M4400 I had gotten from the Outlet. Haha... I guess the lure of having a brand new M4500 w/ i7 920QM and Quadro FX 1800M on hand is just too much! Plus I played with it a bit and found the speakers and trackpad are FAR better than on the M4400. I mean, the audio difference is incredible, and two-finger-scrolling is oh-so-nice. So I swapped over my SSD and am good to go. Suppose I ought to be glad Dell screwed up!

    Hi Forum,

    I compared the speeker from the M4400 & M4500.
The speekers from the M4500 are a little bigger, the sound is clearer and the maximung volume is louder and do not distort.

For music, the speakers are high&mid, no basses. But they are 100% better then the M4400 speakers.

    regards,
    Dirk

The Dell website has actually been what's correct on the screens. If you are configuring an order and use the 'help me choose' button it clearly states in the comparison that all the m4500 screens are wled. The error in Dell's listing is supposedly their internal description that is going out on some of the order forms like the post a few above where it says:
    320-8844 1 15.6" HD+ (1600 x 900) Wide View Anti-Glare RGB LED Display for M4500

I don't know how you feel you got bait and switched.... did they tell you it was RGB LED before you ordered? All the press releases indicate that the RGB screen was going to be the 1600x900 resolution and that's not even what you got. Either way, can't you just return it?

Agreed. The speakers on my M4400 are abysmal. The ones on my M4500 are quite passable.

I also agree about the m4500 speakers, i used them in the hotel while travelling this week and they sound quite good.

How did you get that system so cheap? I just configured the same thing and it's over $2000.

Premier account probably. My system's decked out (i7 920XM, FX 1800M, etc) and it only came out to $2600 w/ tax.

I have bought a 640GB Hdd so I had to reinstall everything

But I can not find any driver for the smart card reader.
    So it is not working.

It's probably the Ricoh driver you need to install. Typically listed under chipset drivers.
