/\/\ I think it depends on where you are. I don't remember ever seeing more than 3 options on the US Dell website.

You were right. I was able to cancel and resubmit my order. It also gave me an opportunity to change some config options I was having second thoughts on. I switched from the i7-820QM to the i7-620M after deciding that I would rather have the battery life. I dropped the LCD down from FHS to the HD+ after deciding that would be easier on my eye. I used some of the money I saved to justify going to a 64GB minicard SSD dual HD config. It will cost me an extra week of waiting, but overall I feel good about the change.

P.S. thanks for the encouragement, it kept me from kicking myself all weekend.

Excellent! I don't think you'll regret this machine. I am impressed with it.

Particularly with the cooling. I don't have any benchmarks or numbers but even under load it's silent and the fan, when it comes on, is very quiet and seems to efficiently cool.

Never as a selectable option as far as I know. But there were 4 displays available in the Tech Specs earlier but now it's 3.

Newbie on board; just checking in to say hellooooow!

After many weeks of research and shopping, I just ordered an M4500.

Seems like a sweet machine. I struggled with the buy decision some since of Dell's software can cause stability problems and since getting warranty support can be a real hassle. Hopefully it will be a positive experience.

My thanks goes out to members who have taken the time to post comments, info, reviews, pics, etc. in this thread. The info really helped me with configuration choices. Especially the display.

Mine will be used in a lab environment to (virtually) host different operating systems for support/development/testing. Looking forward to all those execution cores and hyperthreads on the I7!

    Thanks again,
    Mark

I forgot to order the bluetooth module with the system, so I ordered it seperatly and it came in today... Opening up the bottom of the system I don't see a slot for it.... Does anybody know where it goes?

The service manual doesn't seem to be available yet...

The specifications provided on the Dell website are vague in relation to card reader support in the M4500. Can anyone say if this machine has slots for (a) SD card and (b) compact flash card.

    Thanks.

Mine has a slot for SD cards. As far as I can tell there is no slot for CF cards.
