How is the new A14 bios working out for people? I see comments where people were going to try it, but no reports after that.

I loaded up the BIOS yesterday, don't notice anything different at all.

I also have a question for others using Windows 7. I've got the RC loaded and the only thing I'm having trouble with is the fingerprint reader and adjusting the brightness using the FN + arrow keys.

    Am I the only one?

    Hey guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on an M4400 and was wondering if there was anything I should know before buying it. It'll be used for school work and intense Pro Engineer work. I've heard of problems with the RGB led screen. Is that still happening? Should I wait for the new icore7-like processors? Do you guys see the price coming down a lot in the next few weeks?

It'll come to around $1850 with the newegg upgrades

Here's a list of the parts:
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9550 (2.66GHz, 6M L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)

    15.4" UltraSharp™ WUXGA (1920x1200) RGB-LED TRUELIFE Display

    NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M, 512MB

1.0GB, DDR2-800 SDRAM, 2 DIMMS (Gonna upgrade to 4gb from newegg)

80GB Hard Drive, 5400 RPM (gonna upgrade to 320gb from newegg)

    9 Cell Battery

Intel® WiFi Link 5300 802.11a/g/n Draft Mini Card

    Thanks!

Look's good to me r00bin,can't comment on the RGBLED though.....do you really need one for mcad, could save a fair bit there?

I think i7 will be quite a while away yet [probably not even this year],and can't see them reducing price's anytime soon, but one never really know's with dell.

Should fly with Pro-E,and you've done the wise thing with the HD and ram given dell's pricing policy on upgrade's.

Thanks for the bios info. I've got Win7 and no issue w/ the brightness controls. Try installing Dell Control Point? I don't have a fingerprint reader so I can't comment on that.

All I really wanted was the best screen. It sounds like the RGB-LED is that however I'm a bit hesitant based on the number of black light problems I've heard of. If the black light is faulty or non uniform, can I return it for a full refund and buy one with a WUXGA CCFL from the outlet at a better price within 30 days?
