You will need to download and install the Dell - Driver for ControlPoint Security Manager in order to recognize the Broadcom Unified Security Hub. You don't have to install the application, but you will need the driver in order to eliminate the yellow exclamation and upgrade the firmware.

First make sure your TPM is set to "Activated" + "Disabled" in the BIOS.
Then run the A07 firmware upgrade - either the x86 or x64 version of the file depending on your OS.
Then install the A11 ControlPoint security driver.
Then install the A10 ControlPoinr security manager - make sure all options are checked for install + update.
    Go through the setup wizard.

There is no need to install the ControlPoint Security Manager unless you are going to use it. unclesomebody's post implied that he doesn't want to install the DCP software, he just wants to fix the Broadcom USH problem in his device manager.

That said; if you want to install the security manager as well (I didn't), ofelas is correct.

you do not need the control point connection manager to connect to a wifi internet connection. Vista and even Xp sp2 and up have all a connection manager built in. I suggest you simply use the connection manager that is built into windows. You simply click on the internet icon in the task bar and choose "connect or disconnect". From there a window with all of the available networks will pop up. Click on the network you want to use and then click on the "connect" button. If the connection requires a security code, you will be prompted for one. It's pretty straight forward. Once the connection is successful, windows will remenber it's settings so you don't have to enter the security code each time.

I have written a step by step guide earlier in this thread. You may want to look at it if you have questions.

I'll never understand posts such as this. The guy didn't as for your opinion on whether he should care if his laptop is refurbished, he asked if anyone could provide him with some information.

If you just want to get rid of the exclamation just install Control Point Security Driver package and not the Manager package.

The best option is to just leave it yellow though as the you wont be wasting resources loading a driver you dont even use. You could right click on the exclamation and select Disable and change it to a little black down arrow, if you prefer.

I don't understand why people care so much about computers at all.
