Has somebody else here the same issue with the fun? The guy is using latest bios A12.

and this is Dell support explanation:

So what do you think? Do your fun have also over 3000rpm in idle?

As i said in the other thread:

The M4400 has only one Fan. That fan is connected with 2 Heatpipes.
The one heatpipe cools the CPU, the otherone cools the GPU.

Now you have the CPU at 36°c and the GPU at 50+°c

I dont wonder the fan starts running on speed1(3000rpm) when one part which the fan is cooling heats up at 50+°c
ITS NOT AN CPU HEAT ISSUE AS CLAIMED!!

But 50C is normal temperature for graphic in idle and there is no reason to have the fun at 3000 rpm.

So in your case it works in the same manner as Junky's laptop and your fun started also over 3000 rpm?

In fact the GPU heats up more when the fan isnt running , and therefore the fan is running to avoid the gpu heating up without reason.

In my opinion that guy has lost ground.

Uhhuh my small size high performance notebook got a running fan... uhhuh!
    =====================================================================================================

My M4400 runs cool for the first 90-120 minutes idle without fan, FX770 GPU at ~43°c after that or if doing a bit graphics it starts running at 3000rpm.

You are right for sure, but there is no reason to keep the fun on its maximum. For example 1500 rpm with 55C would be nice compromise, don't you think so?

And you still didn't answer my question if your fun is also running over 3000 rpm in idle.

    Just edited upper post.

On bios rev. A09 its as following:
Fan speed1 starts at ~50°c with 3000rpm (low)
Fan speed2 starts at ~70°c with 5000rpm (high)

Did dell assign a medium speed with Bioses newer that A09? I've been travelling and only know the changelogs of A09 and A12 - sorry for that!

Okay, I see it is wotrhless to talk about it with you

Have different question for you. How are you satisfied with your display? I would like to buy one with the same resolution as you have. I have been read in this forum that it is fairly grainy, is that true?

i dont think the bios version matters, the FX1700 runs quite abit hotter than the FX770, thats probably why he's having his fan on more than we are

Display is okay but really bright. you need to reduce the blue a bit in the WLED Display via nvidia driver options.

i dont see any grainy, but i know there are 2 types of LED Displays. Samsung and Panasonic if i remember correctly. ill post the the type if i'm at home.
