I need some help! I am a sys admin at a company in Canada, and we recently bought 9 M4400s, 5 have SSD drives. The biggest issue I'm having is a docking issue. We have 2 types of docks, an E/Port replicator and the E/Port Plus replicator. some of the laptops required 2 docks, one for the desk and one for the lab. Sometimes when moving from the regular dock to the plus it blue screens. IRP warnings. I have not found an answer. they have the latest bios (A12) and lastest drivers. The only thing I thought of was hardware profiles but these new docks are USB based and don't create hardware profiles. Suggestions?

Are you sure you've updated the Broadcom Unified Security Hub firmware to version A07? (1.2.00208.017). That came out pretty recently. My machine was somewhat flaky till I did that. But I just have a single dock E/Port replicator. I'd get a blue screen capture utility and send it on to Dell for their help. You could also go to the Microsoft crash dump analysis web site and upload it - it is 99.9% likely a driver problem, but sometimes you get some gleanings of information.

I actually think I got it. The crashes are 0x44, which means it could be caused by any 2 drivers. It seems that the LPT1 port on the plus replicator model doesn't play nice with these systems, disabling it allowed me to hot-swap without blue screen. :)

    Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone with a fx770m has hooked their laptop up to a tv via the tv's s-video or component inputs. I am trying play movies from my laptop onto standard definition tvs and am not sure if the fx770m has TV-out capabilities for standard tvs.

    Thanks,
    Nick

you need an adaptor for the VGA port or the Displayport.

Hi all, could anyone tell me if with a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter i can configure a properly working media connection on my lcd tv or amplifier?

I read something about blue and black bars from the M6400 DisplayPort to the HDMI port of some LG panels...

I expect it would be the same on M4400... :(

    Thanks in advance. :)

I'm currently using a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter I found on Amazon and it works beautifully -- haven't seen any bars. I'm guessing any DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter will work. Does audio too.

@pajadvor: Oh I see, this is what you meant by 1.5~2mm gap, but it still completely covered the bottom vent, just leave this tiny amount of gap like cool slice, thanks for the photo ^_^
