I've noticed that some people in the E6400 owners thread have the same issue (last page, one guy with 3 E6400s). I wonder if the E6400 and M4400 share the same motherboard, since they are similar size and spec with the M4400 having a slightly bigger screen.

We should have some weight with Dell on this, we're a State Government so we order a LOT of Dell stuff and they don't like to lose those contracts.

Im just one guy trying to fix this by myself. If you have that kind of power, please try to fix this issue for yourself and everyone, before this becomes a big problem for both Dell and it's possible-future customers. The M4400 is a neat machine, and it would suck if Dell didn't come up with a solution to this.

I agree. There isn't much out there from any manufacturer that has the specs we needed in this case (8gb ram, dock with 2 DVI etc). I want to stick with the Dell, but I also have project deadlines and my boss is getting really pissed off with losing his documents if he doesn't save every 2 minutes. I'm also getting tired of having to restart an OS install in VMware when it locks on disc 4 of 5....

I've posted this on another mini-review, but fact is I am about to close or not this deal, so sorry if it seems double post:

I sometimes play three or four videos at the same time plus firefox open with lots of tabs. Can the computer handle all this well (with FX 770 / 2.53ghz, / 4 GB RAM? (I'm considering upgrading from a Latitude D820 with Quadro NVS 120M - really big improvement?)

Also, I have not seen anywhere stated if there is a way to output 5.1 audio. Anyone knows about it?

    Thanks.

@I♥RAM - Has your M4400 replacement corrected your lockup problems? Dell has just released the RGBLED for the M4400 in the US (which is exactly what I've been waiting for), but I want to make sure that Dell has remedied the lockup issues before I pull the trigger.

I♥RAM and Chimera2345, the problem with the freeze seems to continue. Did you or others replace their notebooks or did you find some other solution? Thanks for an update.
