The 5530 from the outside looks exactly like the 5520 and 5510 (aside from the new option to buy it in black), and the corresponding XPS 15 laptops. Not surprised that the internal design is the same as well. There's not much room to improve the cooling.

If anyone who is following this situation also uses RSS, I just set this up, an entry will be automatically posted within an hour of when the 7530 and/or 7730 launch on Dell's site.

My dad has a failing M4400 and is looking at upgrading to a new 6-core 7730 - every week is painful for him but I would want him to end up in a 6-core model vs one of the currently available 4-cores :(

Could slip as late as June 12 I think (the 7720 ended up launching 3 weeks after the originally announced date). I agree that it is most likely to launch on a Tuesday.

They aren't going to hide it anywhere... When it is available to buy, it will be listed at www.dell.com/precision/.

Note that at the launch of a new system there is generally a shipping delay of two or three weeks from order. It's going to take a while yet to get your hands on one of these.

Just did a Dell chat and was told that in Germany the release day will be the 7th of June. Fingers crossed :)

Hopefully he'll make it through until he can get hands on the 7730. Is your dad's 4400 just overall performing poorly, slow? Maybe it just needs a more modern SSD to get it through. Although m4400 only has SATA-II speeds it could still make huge difference over older platter drives.
