I'm sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseam, but are you guys happy with the noise level from the Precision 7720? I want to buy another Dell, but I'm a bit concerned since I know they can be a bit loud at times. I know there is the Power Manager, but I'm unsure how well it works with the later models. Any input is appreciated

Hello, I have found both of my M7720's far quieter in normal operation than either my M6600 or M6700.
Obviously when driven hard any of them can hover themselves off the desk :) , but the m7720's are far better in normal use.

Hi, I’m having trouble running the Oculus Rift on my 7720. It has the WX 7100 with 16GB RAM. All I’m getting from the headset is the mirror image of what’s on the screen. I’ve tried every driver for the graphics card. AMD app says there’s nothing hooked up to the graphics card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is graphics switching enabled in the BIOS? Turn it off, or try the "direct discrete output mode" option (whatever that is called) right under it. Your headset is possibly running off of the Intel GPU.

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but anyone that has a Thunderbolt dock that supplies power, try the following:
    1. Turn off your laptop and disconnect the power.
    2. Connect your dock to the Laptop.
    3. Turn on your laptop.

Your laptop should now be exclusively powered via the Thunderbolt Dock. I've been using it like this with the Aorus Gaming Box 1080 for a few days now.

For the wx 7100 owners, is it common or is there a workaround for the dGPU locking itself at 300 mhz on the core and memory clock? I've had the computer sent to Dell twice telling me the motherboard and GPU were tested and working properly, but every monitoring app shows them locked still. There was this regedit fix that worked for about an hour, but it went back to being locked.

    Input would be wildly appreciated!

EDIT: I myself tried multiple driver revisions, reinstalling the OS, and disabling/enabling the switchable graphics options in both dGPU and iGPU/dGPU options.

Are you using the correct power supply?
