it works, I just remap page up and down to "CE" and "+/-" key
edit : it kinda work, "delete" and "CE" key are considered the same key, like F9 and "+/-" key...

    Thanks for checking ...
I was assuming "CE" and "+/-" would show up as keys from the "Unknown" key set in the list in the app. Disappointing if it recognizes them as other existing keys. (Can't go without "Delete" key in particular.)

I was going to say that there has to be a way to differentiate them, if the calculator app can do it. But then I checked and realized... Those functions map to those keys in the calculator app. That is to say, pressing F9 in the calculator app performs a +/- toggle, and pressing "Delete" performs the CE operation.

So, Dell just stuck extra F9 and Delete keys on the keyboard with a different label. I bet if you go Notepad and hit the "CE" key (...if it is not remapped...) then it will delete the character in front of the cursor, just like the "Delete" key does. Or in Windows Explorer, it would delete the file that you have selected. No wonder I couldn't find any information about what the codes for these keys are.

What a stupid hack. Not only are these keys basically useless (if their only purpose really was for the calculator), but there are already existing keys on the keyboard that you could use instead for the same function! Ugh. (Sorry, just sour about the lack of dedicated Home/End keys. If they have to try so hard to find places for all of the keys on the keyboard that it frustrates people that some keys are stuck with a Fn press required, why would they introduce duplicates...)

Asking here because the 7520 owners forum is closed. I have a 7750 and of course that will get windows 11. But my 7520 is still under warranty until next and is a top of the line system, Xeon chip, 64gb ram, and 4gb p2200. So imagine my surprise when I checked for windows 11 and it said not eligible.

so I looked at my TPM chip, which was 1.2. I followed options and upgraded it to 2.0. I then ran the app and it still said no windows 11. More research showed that kaby lake won’t be eligible, which blows my mind because of how fast my system is.

So here’s my question. Does anyone know if there is a physical chip difference between a 1.2 and 2.0 or it’s just a software difference? I’ve read Microsoft is testing for kabylake now and if it works I want to make sure I can upgrade with an upgraded TPM. Or if it is just firmware related, can you swap the 1.2 and 2.0 chips? They seem to run the same prices on eBay and look pretty identical.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Please wait for more information. I strongly suspect that you will be able to upgrade your 7520 system (and even older systems) without taking any action. Don't worry about what the upgrade check tool says just yet — Microsoft actually pulled it offline.

    * Right now Microsoft is allowing Windows Insiders to run Windows 11 on any CPU not on their eligibility list (...and I'm not hearing stories about things not working...).
    * Microsoft is waiving the CPU and TPM requirements for OS installs in a VM (...so clearly older CPUs can run the OS).
    * The current requirement for 8th gen and up is all about meeting their "security standards" and it doesn't have to do with performance.

I think that because of the pushback, they're going to have to back off a bit, or offer an "easy out" for users who want to run Windows 11 on older CPUs. (Some kind of warning along the lines of "this is not a supported configuration but you can try it if you want, just don't come to us for support if something doesn't work right".) Failing that, I'm sure that users will quickly figure out how to bypass the CPU check during the install. (The TPM check already has multiple workarounds.) Typically past Windows versions have been able to run without trouble on very old systems. Requirements haven't really changed much since Vista. I recently had an up-to-date Windows 10 install running on an Athlon 64 X2 system (that's from like 2005).

I'm 100% planning on running Windows 11 on my Precision M6700 (3rd gen / Ivy Bridge), "official requirements" be darned. I'll probably try to do the upgrade of my main environment about two weeks before the official launch date, they should have a near-final build available for Insiders by then. It looks like they are targeting October 20 for launch, based on hints in the marketing material, but I'm sure that they will have a specific date announced as we head into the holiday shopping season. Anyway, if you like you can check the M6700 thread around then and I will have details about how that went.

Unpopular opinion - just install Ubuntu on it. The list of Windows apps that have problems running on Ubuntu is now shrinking small.

    I have 1x8TB, 2x4TB, 1x2TB and 1xTB - the latter a B+M-key NVMe in the WWAN slot I got from China.

There are BIG issues with 4TB and 8TB in slots that have the RAID controller active. As soon as you move from AHCI to RAID for full support of the related drivers and tools, you run into problems.
    a) the system does not boot
    b) the built-in OS recovery via BIOS does not work anymore.
    c) a default Windows install/recovery USB stick will fail to boot with an obscure "Kernel Security Check Failure" error before it reaches anything.
    d) most Dell factory reinstall images USB sticks will also not boot - only the one that is the FULL large image (I forgot the option name) will work
If you install with the latter recovery image, then it will work for a while but lately Windows Update pushed a driver update that made it go into a boot-loop.
So I had to disable RAID level driver support and go back to AHCI which is a bit frustrating.

Note that it is really weird that even Windows install/recovery USB sticks will not boot on as soon as RAID is enabled in BIOS on a slot where a 4TB or 8TB SSD is present there is something funky going on with the firmware it seems.

So, yes, they kinda-sorta work with big issues.
I tried to ask Dell about it even through quite high level escalations, but crickets, as they do not officially support any drive larger than 2TB I cannot get anybody to care.

Thanks for your feedback. I was unaware of these issues. I'll include a caveat about this in future discussions about large drive support.

I generally recommend that users run in AHCI mode if they are not actually using the RAID function. Is there a specific feature of Intel Rapid Storage that you are trying to use other than RAID arrays? (Just curious.)

(The Intel RAID implementation is software-based and happens in the driver anyway. You could substitute Windows Storage Spaces and probably be similarly well off performance-wise.)

I have the Rocket 4TB stick but I’m running my OS off a 2TB 970 Plus. I have another 2TB plus and a stock Dell class 50 in there.

Used to save big files I’ve had zero issues and it is extremely fast (970 is faster Of course).

I have never tired (or aspired) to run off that drive.

As others pointed out in the comments section of the video, the GPU scores seem to be quite low for a 3070 at such a high wattage. Maybe driver issues? Hopefully the Precision doesn't have any weird driver issues limiting performance and I would seriously hope not considering the premium that we have to pay for such devices...

Edit: whoops posted in the wrong thread :p
meant to post in 7x60 pre-release discussion

    hello.

I have a bizarre (and disabling) issue with my 7750. To summarize:
    1. I have added some Samsung NVME drive last month. All went well with no issue.
    2. I upgraded to 1.8 Bios last week.
    3. Right after this upgrade i did some Win 10 upgrades. In the middle of those the screen had some flickering.
    4. After reboot everything started to work sluggish. Every click I give has some 1-2 seconds delay. To describe better - its like having old HDD drive. Even when I click the start menu, it takes a small freeze...
    5. I we waited for 2 weeks for some new updates thinking the bios version 1.8 has some issues.
    6. Had about 3 BSOD events meanwhile, regarding some Intel component (i think the chipset).
    7. i have done all the tests provided by the bios suite and have no result.
    8. I was in a holyday and did not really care, bot now, when i have to work, my 5k Euro machine is getting stuck in xls files.

    Any thoughts?
