I was about to say I've been unable to find any P3200s, but I tried once more and found this:

    P3200

So there's hope yet for the eBay route! I don't know why, but I'm somewhat skeptical that they'll sell you a GPU via the parts line. Also, thanks for that, @Aaron44126 !

Now we'll just need to wait and see if they're interchangeable.

Not sure, if mine from the 7730 with iGPU only is of interest, just in case: NGRJG Assembly, Connector, Board To Board, DGFF, 7X30

Ah, thanks, but that part number is for the 'beam connector' that connects the GPU to the motherboard. Plus, the 7730's DGFF won't fit in the 7530, but thanks very much!

Hey IR, do you think current owners of 6-core laptops should consider upgrading to the incoming 8-core laptops, assuming one has a multi-core workflow? My current upgrade cycle is about 4 years, but with the core upgrade I was wondering whether moving to one would make better sense for the long term rather than the 6-core? I dunno, might be GAS, might be idiocy on my part. What do you think?

They are already rumoring that the upcoming "Comet Lake" chips may have 10-core CPUs on offer in laptops next year...

    Hallo there.
Do the 7530 and 7730 share the same motherboard.?

No, they have the same features/BIOS but they are not physically the same, you cannot swap one for the other.

Considering these two comments, and even if Intel were bringing deca-core CPUs to notebooks next year (I wouldn't put it past Intel to shove such a chip into a Max-Q notebook and call it a day), if my workload were truly multi-threaded and CPU-bound, I'd build myself a desktop with a Ryzen 7 3700X CPU and an X570 chipset—it's more value for money, anyway.

Plus, AMD is also likely to bring 8-10 core CPUs to notebooks next year.

Yes, that would be the best option. Unfortunately, I'm bound to a portable these days. More to think about anyway, thanks!
