Sure thing! I'll do that later today when I'm next to my laptop.

    Hi!

Can a GPU be added later?

I was able to get virtually the same price for ThinkPad P52 with virtually the same spec (i7-8750H, 4k with Touch, 8GB DDR4 2400MHz, P1000) as for 7530 but without Touch and no GPU . For my line of work I hardly ever need GPU power, but this may change in the future. I am leaning towards 7530, but would like to know if a GPU can be added.

OS and storage would be added on arrival.

    Full Details for Lenovo:
    • Processor : Intel Core i7-8750H Processor (9MB Cache, up to 4.10GHz)
    • Operating System : Windows 10 Home 64
    • Operating System Language : Windows 10 Home 64 WE (EN/FR/DE/NL/IT)
    • Display : 15.6" 4K (3840x2160), IPS, Touch

Theoretically, yes. The GPU is separate from the motherboard and it is removable. If you ordered the system with no dGPU then you have a "spacer card" which hosts the back HDMI and DisplayPort connections in the place where the dGPU should go.

You will have to source a GPU card and possibly other components (i.e. GPU power cable?) which might be tricky. A small number of Quadro DGFF cards have shown up on eBay. Also you will want to check out the heatsink/fan assembly. At least on the 7730, the "no-dGPU" systems come with an inferior heatsink that does not have heatpipes going to where the dGPU is. I'm not sure if it is the same on the 7530.

You can absolutely upgrade the GPU. The process is a little drawn-out, though: upon receipt of the machine, you'll have to call Dell and quote several part numbers to upgrade to a discrete GPU, because the heat-sinks for iGPU-only and dGPU configurations are different. For the Quadro P3200, for instance, you'll need the first four part numbers in the image below (the last one is a software part, which you can download yourself):

    Amazing, thanks Ionising_Radiation

    Can I please check:
So without a discrete GPU, the laptop will not have an HDMI nor Display Port outputs? Dell's order page clearly shows Mini DisplayPort 1.4 & HDMI connectors, and they are not optional unlike Smartcard reader for example.

The laptop does have these ports without a dGPU. There is a spacer card installed in place of the dGPU which hosts these ports and allows pass-through of the data signal to the Intel integrated GPU. You will replace this spacer card and install a proper dGPU card when you upgrade.

I joined the club. Just got a refurb 7730 from the outlet a few days ago. FHD screen, i7-8850H and Radeon 4150. Very nice machine. The right speaker is blown out, or not seated correctly:( Sending it back for a refund and gambling on ordering another refurb machine is the best solution?
