Oh, man, I wish I could help, but I'm on the other side of the planet. The nearest Micro Center is in Fairfax, which is a considerable distance away.

You could try re-posting this in the Norfolk subreddit, as well as the PC Master Race, SuggestALaptop and Dell subreddits; I'm certain that there are people in your city willing to do it, perhaps even completely free of charge.

I hope you get your repaste done!

Hi guys, has anyone experience a problem with background static noise coming out headphones?
When I connect headphones or wireless bluetooth speaker to the laptop, after few minutes when I am playing some video or music I start to hear slight noise in the background. It is really noticeable when I pause the movie and this distortion is still happening, but usually stops after a while when there is no sound coming from any app. When I reconnect headphones it is gone, but it starts happening again after few minutes randomly.

Do you think it might be hardware related issue? Same headphones connected to desktop/phone dont have the same issue. I have Precision 7530.

No problems with head set connected to the TB18 dock. Had a few session of 30 to 60 minutes without problems.

We know the 7720 wide gamut 4K display has been confirmed as only being 8-bit, but has anyone confirmed with 17.3 IGZO 4K panel as being 8 bit or 10 bit (or 8 bit + 2bit FRC) on the outgoing 7730? The HP Zbook 17 is confirmed as being 10-bit, just wondering if Dell's offering is the same.

Can someone who has the 7730 with the 4K IGZO also check the panel model so we can lookup?

    7730 has 8-bit panels (for 4K), not 10-bit.

Thanks. Do we know the panel model number for the IGZO 4K?

I've undervolted and would now like to repaste my 7530 with i9-8950HK and NVIDIA P3200.
Does anyone have pics of the disassembled 7530's heat sink assembly? I can't find pics or videos of this online.
I don't quite understand how this will work when removing the heat sink since the Dell service manual leaves out an important part - they don't show the discreet graphics card or the thermal pads under it...
I see that the heat pipe on the GPU side is slid just under the chassis - so you clearly cannot lift straight up on it when removing the heat sink, correct?
I see the solder under the heat pipes of the CPU heat sink side - obviously the GPU heat sink side is also soldered on, correct? I don't see much solder, and I wonder if that is affecting thermals.
How does one lift and slide the fans/heat sink assembly slightly in the front and slide it out from under the chassis where it is hooked underneath in the back if there are thermal pads under the heat sink? I envision the thermal pads sticking partially to the top and partially to the bottom, and then I have to pull that forward? Or does it go pretty smoothly?
While the service manual does not say so, do I loosen the screws on the GPU side as it describes on the CPU side and then just lift and slide as I've described or ?

With the announcement of the new Alienware Area 51m also using the DGFF form factor for Turing (RTX 20 series) mobile GPUs, who wants to be the first to throw caution to the wind and try a mobile RTX 2080 in their Precision 7530/7730? It’s 150W TGP, so there might be some cooling issues, but...science! :D
