My employer requires that we encrypt our drives with Bitlocker. The dock delay is very annoying as the keyboard isn't recognized until the login screen is displayed. This means the Bitlocker PIN screen, which comes before the OS is loaded, requires me to open my 7510 from clamshell mode and type in my Bitlocker PIN on the keyboard rather than my USB dock keboard.

Very annoying as I still have to wait the 5-15 seconds once the Windows 10 logon screen is displayed for the dock to recongize everything.

I honestly wouldn't be worried. The dock is exactly the same on both the 180 and 240. The only difference is the power supply provided.

Dell's thinking is that if your CPU, GPU, hard drive are all running at 100% with max screen brightness, your laptop is pulling 180watts already. If you have plugged in USB powered hard drives and other items into the dock, your system might start using the battery because it isn't receiving enough power, hence their recommendation to use 240 watt.

Does Dell sell 240 watt chargers in India? If so, you could always buy one seperste and swap it with the 180 watt charger.

The Dell website lists this under the comparability section:

No, Dell India has only 180W listed only.

Thanks, ygohome, for the confirmation. Can you tell me what your BIOS version is? That's my only idea left...

    I'm at BIOS version 1.3.12

*edit: some of us have had issue trying to upgrade to bios 1.4.8. Me included. So far no one has been able to figure out a common denominator why some 7000 series can upgrade cleanly to 1.4.8 and others cannot. Perhaps BIOS 1.4.8 has issues with 64GB? I'm guessing/speculating.

I downgraded to 1.3.12 and my RAM issues have disappeared. Now running stable on 64 Gb.

For the record, my symptoms were: screen flickering/banding and/or frozen mosaic screen prior to the DELL logo (failing POST). Never got to BIOS.
The machine (build date 4/10/16) came with BIOS 1.4.8 installed.

ygohome, thanks for the help with troubleshooting this problem (also, for introducing me to Speccy)

Hi. yes, speccy is an excellent software tool! I wish it allowed for fan control. Although, it sees my e3-1535 as i7-6920HQ, which it is very similar to but the xeon has ECC support and maybe one or two minor other differences. And I'm not even using ECC memory, I only have xeon because I thought it would be cool.

I don't allow speccy running in background or at system launch (it can show your temps in notification tray if you do). My temps are always good on this system. I launch speccy only on occasion if something I suspect strange is happening or after driver updates to be sure things are copacetic.

But the main reason I don't keep speccy running all of the time in background... it continually polls my quadro which causes the NVIDIA GPU Activity monitor in my system notification tray to flash on and off every second. If I'm using optimas I prefer to see that GPU Activity montitor in my notification tray incase something foreign tries to utilize the GPU. But because speccy causes that monitor to flash continually I don't allow Speccy to run in background at launch. It is a terrific tool other than that nagging issue.

I have the same problem with dyseac, except that mine is FHD IPS Ultrasharp Wide-angle. It shows as "Monitor\LGD04B9" in
HWinfo. The display has not only less brightness, less contrast, less color accur acy, but also unacceptable yellow tint. Attached photo is result when I compare it with a Macbook retina. Let beside the screen resolution, the Macbook feats the "new monster" completely. Paying $2000, I can live with few other annoy thing, but this display quality is somewhat unacceptable. I ordered to Japan, so a request for Dell support or product returning isn't easy at all. Have you, dyseac, or any one here has managed to resolve this annoying? Any advice is highly appreciate.
