They're definitely there. I have the restore USB but never looked at its contents. Will look tomorrow and see if I can figure out what software it is

That would be most helpful. This is driving me nuts.

Also, I'm using Windows 7, not Windows 10.

    Hello, everybody!

I have big trouble with my two units of Dell Precision 7510. I want to disable "Switchable graphics", because some OS do not support two graphics simultaneously. So, I have unchecked "Switchable graphics" in the BIOS settings, restarted and... display is gone.

Notebook is working (system is booting in the background), display is back lighted, but nothing appears on the display. I have checked BIOS 1.10 and 1.20 on two units with identical configuration. I have been checking many times with different BIOS configurations. Always disabling "Switchable gprahics" makes system unusable.

Could anybody confirm that issue? My hardware configuration is Intel i5-6300HQ, AMD FirePro W5170M, 1x16 GB DDR non-ECC and UltraSharp IGZO-Display Ultra HD.

If you have any questions about Dell Precision 7510, I would answer with pleasure.

Coming with experience on the M6700 with NVIDIA graphics, I'm not sure if this will help. But I have experienced the same issue where disabling switchable graphics causes the display to stop working. In this situation, external displays still worked, but this might not be clear as Windows was displaying the login screen on the "ghost" internal display, and other displays show black until you move the mouse cursor over there or successfully log in.

This turned out to be an issue with the VBIOS in the GPU that occurred only if "legacy option ROMs" are disabled in the BIOS. The default configuration for Windows 8/10 machines will have legacy option ROMs disabled, because it is required for UEFI "secure boot" to be enabled.

This was later fixed with an updated VBIOS, but Dell did not release it online, it just started showing up in newly shipped machines one day. Users were able to extract it and post it online so people with older machines could flash it themselves.

So, if you are using UEFI, disable secure boot and enable legacy option ROMs and see if that makes any difference.

Display and both graphics cards work fine when "Switchable graphic" is enabled. Windows 10 and Ubuntu 14.04 support this configuration without issues.

However, I would like to install operating system which does not support two graphics card one time. For that reason I need to disable switchable graphics. In fact, I have successfully booted up one or two times with "Switchable graphics" BIOS option disabled. In that case the Intel P530 graphic card was disabled totally and AMD FirePro was running perfectly all uptime.

Unfortunately, it was one or two times. 99,9% attempts were unsuccessful. When I disable "Switchable graphics" and restart, I get without-signal display. The only solution is reset BIOS setting to default by removing and putting back the coin battery.

For that reason, I am asking all Dell Precision 7510 owners for a little favour. Would you like disable "Switchable graphics" in your BIOS settings, restart notebook and post here the effect, please? You do not need to boot-up the operating system. Just change BIOS settings, restart and tell me, if you would get the DELL logo on display. If you get, would you like to restart system few times and check, if display is working (DELL logo apperas) all the time, please?

Warning: If my problem is global issue with BIOS in the Dell Precision 7510, you would be forced to take off coin battery to reset BIOS settings to default. In that case, you will not lose any data or passwords. You will lose only BIOS settings. I apologise for any inconvenience.

I sent them the email on Christmas Eve; it would have been until the 28th before I could call, then I was unable to chat on phone until 4th. I would expect their support to handle email requests just as well as phone requests... but...

I received my Precision 7510 (Xeon, 16GB, 500GB SSD), of which I am happy although in my opinion the Precision M6600 is sturdier and has a more professional look. It's very fast and silent, but I have not tested it thoroughly yet with demanding applications.

I just realized that Dell supplied with the 7510 two update software: one is simply called Dell Update, which I know because it's installed on other Dell computers that I have, and the other one Dell Command Update (I don't remember the exact naming right now). However, while Dell Command Update seems to work without problems, Dell Update always ends in failure because it "couldn't find an Internet connection", which is impossible of course. Are these two update software redundant, that is only the Dell Command Update should be used?
