I used the dell preinstalled Win10 OS on our two 7x10 laptops and very happy campers. We did make sure to update the drivers manually as we felt necessary. I'm with Aaron in that I don't like much of the Dell software installed utilities/programs but some I keep (Dell Command|Power Manager; Dell WLAN Radio Switch Driver; Dell Premier Color; Dell Touchpad). The other Dell apps/progs we uninstalled, and many Win10 progs we uninstalled too as there were MANY MicroSoft junk progs/apps that are pre-installed by any WIn10 regardless of fresh install or if from Dell. Is not difficult to clean house though (ie. deleting manually via "programs and features").

Microsoft Windows Update does update drivers, true. But for things like the manufacturer specific SSD drivers, GPU drivers (both Intel and discrete gpu drivers since windows update will only update default MS video drivers) it does require a little work to get current drivers beyond just letting MS do it all for you. But it is not a big chore to do

*EDIT: What I said about MS update not updating dgpu or igpu drivers... Turns out that isn't true. I ask MS to update the specific display adapter drivers via Device Manager and it did update them. I had a recent problem where If I went full screen with a video on my laptop while docked and connected to my external displays, MS would stop both Intel and Nvidia drivers and reporting that it was a compatibility issue with those driver (compatibility issue stemming from recent windows update perhaps).
To save time and avoid searrching out the latest drivers I went to Device Manager and updated the drivers with simple button click not even knowing which version MS would decide to download and install) It updated my NVIDIA driver from 362.13 to 369.09. It updated my Intel GPU to 20.19.15.4531.

EDIT2: display drivers were still crashing on me. Corrected by re-installing drivers manually. For nvidia driver choosing custom install and then choosing to wipe all traces of prior installed driver files while installing.

EDIT3: crashed again. Seems to be issue with settings in chrome browser actually. Still investigating. The problem doesn't happen when using IE. Disabled Hardware Acceleration in "chrome://settings" as a workaround.

You can assign the media buttons to Home and End with this tool.
    http://sharpkeys.codeplex.com/
I've assigned the Prev to Home and the Play to End.

On the 7510, does anyone know how to enable the 2 finger to mimic the right click?. I am able to do this on my 5510 but it doesn't appear this is possible on the 7510.

Below is a screenshot of the only options for the 2 finger action.

For me, enabling "tap to click" also enabled right click using two finger tap. But there was not specific "right click" tap option. Right clicking via two finger tap just automatically began working after I enabled "tap to click".

*I also just noticed that you are on a later revision of the touchpad software than I am. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for posting this. I do have the "Tap to click" checked, however, the 2 finger right click action still does not work for me. I am not sure if this matters, but I am on Windows 10 Pro.

    I'm on Win10 Pro

*edit... You could also check registry in regedit

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Alps\Apoint\Gesture

    Check the same under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

see if 2TapSupport is a 1 as mine is.

Thanks for noticing that. I downgraded the touch pad driver and the 2 finger right click action is working now.

    Thanks

I have trouble with built-in microphone. The part ID of display (listed in Dell site's configuration) is "BEZEL, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, FHD, NTCH, MIC ONLY, 7510", indicated that it has a built-in mic, without webcam. But sound recording seems not to work, both in system app as Cortana and third party as Skype.
I have double checked BIOS to be sure microphone is ON, and installed latest driver from Dell site.
For more detail, in recording devices tab, it shows 3 items as attached file. Jack Mic should be the 3.5mm line-in, that works normally. As for stereo mix, when choosing it as default device, it records the sound of the PC itself, not "outside sound".
Then the problem should come from Microphone Array. Does anyone here with same configuration have any experience on this? How is microphone shown on your side?

P/S I attach also screenshot of device manager in case it helps.

    Hello,

Following the Macbook Pro 2016 model 'fiasco' memory and specs wise, I've ordered a 7510 Precision with E3-1575M Xeon CPU and 16GB ECC Memory. I can't go through all 146 pages right now (but will some day), so can anyone please help me with the following couple of questions:

    - ECC memory. Crucial (my first port of call usually) doesn't seem to support ECC memory in the 7510. I know they offered it for the 7710 when I checked a few months back. Am I safe to order some for my 7510 when it arrives? Why I'm asking such seemingly simple question is one of the machines I ordered half a year ago was a Lenovo P50 with the same CPU (much more expensive back then btw) and 8GB standard non-ECC memory. When it arrived the memory from Crucial didn't work in it. It was higher frequency memory and it couldn't clock down with more than 1 module installed. I had to return the machine for different reasons but have to be careful this time round. Anyone successfully using Crucial or any other brand of ECC memory (32GB+), please share your experience.

    - Port replicator / docking station. Now that Dell has discontinued the Thunderbolt dock, what is the next best thing? I was looking at the Advanced E Port (240W) as well as the E-View Stand but would prefer the less bulky dock of some kind. Don't need the multitude of ports, just monitor port, audio jack to plug in my speakers and a couple of USB ports for external backup drive and a keyboard/mouse set. What are you people using?

    Thanks.
