You will want to search for the "Hands on Dell Precision 7710" thread if you have an M3000M, but to give you some perspective the firepro m6100 in my precision m6800 runs at 90 degrees C under load if ambient temperature is high enough. 70-82 doesn't sound that bad for a quadro.

My 7710 with m3000m runs about the same. Typically low 70's, it might have peaked at 80, but that would've been quick until it dropped again.

    To put into perspective
My 600m never goes over 50C. My 880m sat at thermal throttle 92C average. My 970m sits at 70C average, my 980m sits high 70 low 80C. The FirePro I had last year in my MSI thermal throttled at 90C the whole time.

WAN card question... has anybody swapped out theirs? Are there any better options other than the stock card that comes with the machine in case I want faster WiFi transfer speeds or range?

I think WiFi connection is really good with the current standard card?

I concur about the Wifi, I have a Thinkpad W520, and a dell XPS 15(which I have used with the standard Intel card, and well as a broadcom to test Hackintosh) and all three have WAY less speed at distance than my new7710. The difference is remarkable both on 5g and 2.4.
Not sure if it is the card or the chasis, haven't tried the 7510.

hello everyone, if i were to use my power adapter that came with the laptop with my e-port replicator dock.... what adapter would you recommend as the one I carry with me when I'm travelling?

Will a lighter and lower wattage adapter suffice in this instance or should I jsut buy another 180W adapter?

    Thanks!

You will get throttling on anything less than 180W. These systems tend to go way conservative with throttling, I think, the system seems to run better on battery than it does with a low-powered power adapter. You can override the behavior somewhat with an app like ThrottleStop.

That said, you can use 90W or 130W and the system will function.

It might be worth phoning Dell Outlet explaining the situation, as they will frequently offer to refund you 5-10% of the purchase price to encourage you to keep an Outlet system which you aren't 100% happy with. Which may help take some of the sting out of the cost of buying a mic!

In my case I was a *lot* more fortunate than you. After a bit of to and fro with Dell support, it looks like I had the right motherboard fitted. However I needed to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version, and click the Reset to Defaults button to enable me to access the thunderbolt settings.

Then once enabled, the USB-C port woke up, but I needed to plug a device in to the port before the correct USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller drivers installed in Windows 10!

So only 1 motherboard change, and a bit of remote diagnostics, and all resolved. Not bad for Dell!

Hi, I need some purchasing advises as I'm getting ready to order a M7510.
1st, GPU options. My most frequently used 3D software are, Solidworks 2016, Blender, 3Ds Max and Unity. For GPU, FirePro or Quadro? I've heard both GPU are kinda iffy on M7510.
2nd, is UHD aka 4K display worth it? I'm bit worry about legibility 4K on a 15" screen. Many people upscale 200% for legibility, then what is the point getting a 4K when you're scaling it to 1080p size?
Lastly, fan noise. My M4400 sounds like a jet when fan is blowing at full speed, I couldn't even use it in coffee shop without someone calls homeland security on me. How quiet is M7510 at full load?

    Thanks in advance.
