To me this is not qualified as workstation because of no docking station. I so hate this type of laptop where i have to open the lid to press the power-on button and close it back every single time, plus the hassle to plug/unplug the cables when moving from one place to another.

I just ordered a replacement battery, 240w PA-9E, and usb Sound card for my m4600. With this I should be able to push 1100/1500 daily on my m5100, maybe even higher we will see when I get it. I couldve gotten less watts but I figured if I continue with the m4800 later it would come in handy then.

Im going to just sell the P157SM I bought recently, Ive had for a week now and still dont use it.

Just a quick reminder for you all looking to upgrade M4600, M4700, M4800.

    http://www.laptopbatteryexpress.com/KJ321-Dell-97-Whr-9-Cell-Lithium-Battery-Slice-p/dell-121.htm

This slice battery works for Dell M4600, M4700, M4800.
It can extend your battery life by 7 hours.
    It has 8000+mAh inside.

I found this is a real practical solutions for people on the go.
Even newer laptops from Lenovo, MSI, Asus don't offer something like this....

If you're already using 9 cells, this gives you another 9 cells so total 18 cells on the go.

Indeed, it's not just you, maximum power draw from the battery is 100W.

It wouldnt surprise me if I can pull near 200w at full system saturation. I allow almost 100w to the m5100 iirc but my 150w brick couldnt handle it in actual games when the CPU was also being pushed.

Got a 240w on the way to remedy that.

    Hi all,
Thanks to everyone for all the info. I bought an AMD M5100 to replace my Quadro 1000M, and it seems to work for the most part, however, the drivers are messed up. It recognizes it as a Radeon product, and it performs poorly in OpenGL. In fact, I did a FPS test within Rhino3D with the basic Windows Display Driver installed, and get twice as good framerate than with the AMD drivers installed.

Does anyone know how to get the 4600 to recognize what card it actually is? I've tried half a dozen different variations of the drivers and none of them recognize the card is installed and actually install the drivers. When I manually try to install the drivers, they fail as well. The only way I can get any drivers to install is via Windows update, and the Radeon drivers.

    Thanks!
