I think this strange also, I am not going to order one of these (at least not now) due to them not offering a Thunderbolt 3 port. As mentioned other manuafactures have this I believe acer is offering a Thunderbolt 3 port with there new 17 Nitro series.

Also, if they are waiting until January I may have to take a look at the Lenovo P70 (which I don't think is available yet either in the us. Also in January the new HP Z workstation will become avaliable.

The 30% off is actually more along the normal pricing and is automatically applied when visiting the store, not really the super great discount as it appears. Nobody would buy these things if they were 30% more than what we see in the store now.

I was going to ask same question as Kalm... a maxed out 7710 is about $7000 USD with 5 YR NBD/Accident insurance with the standard "30% discount". I'm looking for better coupons too.

Yep, "starting at $1699" was their mantra from the beginning. They could equally say "90% discount" if the result is $1699. Where they start is arbitrary if no one pays it.

I also think that an increase of almost 43% from the current price will make these machines very undesirable but we will have to see what lenovo is going to try to charge (not much more if one trusts the CDW price estimates)

Actually they offered another 10% discount when I asked but I am also waiting to hear about p70 and zbook g3 and even the option of e3-1505 instead of crazy 1535 pricing. TB 3 is not a huge incentive for me but would be nice. I think I would definitely be OK with 4 USB-3 ports even in the 4 years I intend to keep that machine (I am typing this over an xps 17 which is that old)

I still can't figure out what is the difference between M.2 PCle SSD and the same one but wrriten as (high performance)? The price between this two is not much though? Isn't the PCle SSD one and the same?

Another thing that makes some confusion is the RAM options. When you choose Xeon processor, the only RAM compatible for it will be with ECC, but they still offer the non ECC along as option. Am I wrong, but can you have non ECC RAM on Xeon ECC processors?

For 5510, is there any difference between seleting the ENERGY STAR label or not?
I heard for some previous Dell workstation that this option lowers the performance. Is that true for 5510 as well? Thanks!

I'm still confused why I can't choose ECC ram for 5510 in Denmark - and also the option for high performance PCIe M.2 ensuring Pro 950. I don't care about the 1535 Xeon. Would hate to order tomorrow and see the options list updated next week.

Have there been any reviews of the 7710, 7510, or 5510 yet?

Yes and no, different motherboard, different GPU, potential difference in processors, pro bios, etc.
