Thanks guys for the answers. One last question, I know that Premier customers are able to get more customization options. I'm buying just as a small business with no connections, rep, or partner, but is it still possible to get more customization options over the phone? I'm particularly interested switching from the 1601 Wireless to either a 3x3 N or AC card, and decreasing RAM or HD to get the high end system with 4900MQ into my budget.

Yes to all options, with a couple of notes.

The mSata option requires that you also purchase a 2.5" HDD. The cheapest option is a 500gb hybrid HDD/SSD drive. The price of the option is much less than what the drive sells for on Newegg, so you could easily sell it if you wanted.

Networking options I see are Dell 1550, Dell 1601, and Intel 6300.

The QHD+ panel is a $170 option. The quality of the panel makes that a bargain (imho).

What should be a normal battery life on a m4800 with qhd+ and quadro k2100m? I had expected more from the now standard 9-cell. I almost never use it unplugged, but still.

I can't imagine it would be better with the QHD screen, how much are you getting? Also I have not heard yet of anyone who has a QHD order shipped yet, mine is estimated to ship 10/29

The QHD+ screen uses IGZO technology. I would actually suspect that you get better battery life from that than from the 1080p IPS screen.

Battery life varies heavily with how much processing power you are using and the brightness you have the screen at. I would expect more than 7 hours using the iGPU, browsing the web using wifi with brightness at 1/3, given the earlier the test scores from earlier models. However, I would expect that given the performance, brightness, and cooling this laptop is capable off it should not be hard to reduce it below 2 hours.

3 hours it seems. But screen brightness is on 30%, wi-fi on, some photoshopping and browsing.

edit: screen was set lower then I thought, automaticly did so after unplugging.

I think the important question here is does it support OPIMUS?

You mean 'optimus'? According to Nvidia the k2100m does support optimus technology.

    I mis-read your post lol.

According to notebookcheck, it does have optimus support.

Even nVidia's site says it supports optimus.

I think optimus has been supported since The M6700.

    Hi rssrss,
I also have received my M4800 about two weeks ago. Unfortunately it is causing a lot of trouble and Dell hasn't been very helpful so far to solve the problem. See post http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...recision-m4800-bluescreen-bsod-nightmare.html.
I would like to as you some specific questions about your M4800.

    1. In the event log I've been seeing some errors or warnings on every system start. Do you have those as well? I have only Windows 7, Acrobat Reader and Firefox installed on my system.

    2. My fan is running almost all the time, although my system is on idle. All it's doing is waiting until the next BSOD. I'm monitoring my temperatures with HWiNFO64. I saw CPU temperatures go up to 70°C, although the notebook is on idle, there is only firefox open.

    Are you observing something similar?

    Michael
